Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Have you read the Terry Pratchett story Eric?

message 1402: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21809 comments Yes, I always liked the idea if you came through the door marked wotsisname you were a wotsisname :-)

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Sounds logical to me :)

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Its a roflcopter

message 1407: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21809 comments I must admit it was the first time I've come across the term, had to google it!

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments What did you discover?

message 1409: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21809 comments Apparently it's "Roflcopter: A portmanteau of ROFL and helicopter and popularized by the website www.roflcopter.com. The website contained the animated gif and nothing else. The term was supposedly first used by a Blizzard Entertainment moderator in the Warcraft III forum in 2003. lqtm: For "Laughing quietly to myself"

I've never been into warcraft so never hung about on the forums, and had just never been on the forums where people would allude to it.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments I have heard it in a couple of videos, I sort of knew what it meant.

message 1411: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21809 comments This was the first time I'd come across it, so I thought I'd better check.
Also ROFL isn't really an acronym I ever use so I've got to stop and think when I see it. (Which isn't that often nowadays, I suspect the fact that emojis are so easy to create is perhaps killing the old LOL etc

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Like ROFLASST

(rolling on floor laughing and somehow still typing)

message 1413: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21809 comments I have wondered how many of them date back to the early days of the internet when everything was limited, and how many of them come from texting?

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments This picture is intriguing me :)

message 1415: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21809 comments a man being robbed by the accomplices of a fortune teller, that could never happen in Port Naain :-)
