I really couldn't see him being an accountant, or a law clerk...

In his extreme youth he was apprenticed to Miser Mumster which is where he learned to write in a good clear hand.....

Good thing he wasn't apprenticed to a doctor then!

Unlike Tallis, in my case, my handwriting is my only qualification to practice medicine

As an aside I am editing a slim volume of Tallis's memoirs, largely blog posts but with one or two stories never before seen.
And even the blog posts have been edited slightly to allow some ingress of the truth
Thus and so I endeavour to ensure I owe him no more favours than he owes me.

Don't let him near it, or all shreds or truth will vanish immediately.
