Thanks for raising this question, James.
These are spammer(s) (might be one person setting up multiple accounts.)
IF the profile has a photo you can flag it. But if there is no photo (and most of the time there isn't), the best option is to send an email directly to:
Support (at) Goodreads (dot) com
I forwarded the original friend request I got last week to that support email and the profile was removed. I just got another one (purportedly different person/email) and I've sent support an email about that one as well.
Don't assume that someone else has reported it. Send that email to Support(at)Goodreads(dot)com. The more people who report an offender the more likely the staff is to act quickly.

Hope everyone has a happy, safe and spectacular 4th of July holiday!
We're going to a friend's for a cook-out. I'm actually kinda dreading it because temps will be around 90F and high humidity (NOT my comfort zone).

A belated Happy 4th Birthday to Paul Andrew (Leah's boy)! And while I realize he's getting to be a big boy, I DO miss that picture of him in his dragon costume!
Off on an extended trip this holiday season. I'm in a hotel room as I type this. Will check in periodically, but will not be here frequently. We'll be back home Dec 29 and I'll be back "in business."
Hope everyone enjoys the holiday season!

So ... I ended the year terribly. Lost my USB somewhere on the road before we got to San Antonio. (The agency just called to say they found it and are shipping it back to me.) Caught a cold Christmas Eve. It was getting slightly better when I got food poisoning on the drive back. Let me tell you stopping at every third gas station for the necessary bathroom break makes for a L*O*N*G drive. Thank heavens for those giant 32-oz drink cups, which I was able to use a couple of times when we couldn't make the stop fast enough. Finally got over that bug, and my cold came back with a vengeance, moving into my lungs and keeping me up hacking and coughing for much of the last two days.
On a positive note - I've lost eight pounds! That's from my pre-holiday weight (and I'm sure I had gained at least 5 during the trip).
Looking forward to getting caught up and back in the swing of things.
Happy New Year!

Hope everyone is surviving the latest winter storms! Looks like the East coast is getting the worst of it.
We had about 6 inches of fresh powdery snow. Looks pretty, and not too heavy when it comes to shoveling. Today it's bright and sunny. But we'll have more snow coming on Tuesday.

The weatherman is predicting 20 below for the weekend.
Yeah ... it's -4°F when I got up this morning. I don't think we'll much above the teens for the next several days. And more snow on the way as well.

We have a snow day today. Mostly blowing snow but we got several inches of snow overnight.
We are suppose to have 60 below wind chills Wed. and Thurs. They will call off school for that.
Yeah, school is closed for tomorrow here as well. And it was closed yesterday due to our nearly 12-inch snowfall.

27 below actual temp today.
Valentine's Day is this week. Who is YOUR literary crush?
For me it's Atticus Finch from To Kill a Mockingbird - a man of integrity, calm under pressure, able to listen to both sides and get along with just about everyone, a great father, and always kind.

Hubby and I are taking a mini vacay starting Saturday. Won't be online for the next several days. See you later!
With the 4th of July being mid-week this year ... does that change how you celebrate?
Day of week doesn't matter to hubby and me ... but weather DOES.
Forecast for Thursday is hot, muggy and thunderstorms. So I guess we're staying indoors and watching the Capitol Fourth on PBS for our fireworks "fix" ....

I'll let Leah respond officially, as she is the moderator to keeps track.
But I would count the # of pages I had read in a DNF book ... so if I got to page 43 before giving up, that's what I would count.
Hope that helps.

Love the new pic, Leah. My stars, but Paul has grown. I remember the joy when he was born!
(Oh ... and I DO still miss that little dragon outfit ... just saying...)

I entered one of those giveaways where they have 50 books & 2,000 people are requesting (you know what I mean?!), and I won! I'm getting "Brit..."
Congrats Terris!
Just to let you know ... on the road on vacay with spotty internet access. I'll post when I can ...
Had our first snow overnight. Guess it's time to swap my sandals for "real shoes" (and socks).....

Wisconsin. We're expecting more tomorrow, Halloween ... lucky for the kids in our village that we have trick-or-treat on the last Sunday of October. It was sunny and 50s last Sunday when they were out and about. But there are communities who still do it on Oct 31st in the evening and it's gonna be a mess.
We only got 0.3" and it's all melted by now. Tomorrow we're expecting 1-2" here on "the lake", but 3-5" farther west! They have barely begun gathering all the piles of leaves ... heck lots of trees still HAVE their leaves!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! It's a short sprint to Christmas this year, as Thanksgiving came so late in November. Be safe and don't stress. Happy reading ....
Hope everyone is staying safe and has plenty of books to read during the COVID-19 crisis.
My library closed with only about 20 minutes notice on Saturday. They've announced that they'll allow curbside pick-up for remaining holds ... but the website keeps crashing, so I haven't been able to arrange a pick-up time. Official closing is supposed to be until April 1, but I noticed this morning that all books currently checked out have a new due date of May 1.

Just an update from Wisconsin. Our Governor ordered a "safer at home" order on March 25, effective through April 24 (at least). Hubby and I have made a couple of runs to the grocery store or the bank. We went to the park one day to take a walk. But frankly our weather has not been cooperating. Cold, rainy - or snowing! On the plus side ... the cold weather makes the entire garage into a walk-in refrigerator! (According to the weather report that should end in a day or two...)
If I recall correctly, Leah's son, Paul, should be celebrating a birthday right about now. Happy Birthday, Paul!
I'll be getting vaccine # 2 this coming week. Can hardly wait to feel more safe out and about (though still masked).
Have any of you started / completed the vaccine process? How was your experience?

Got the vaccine about a month ago as I am a health care worker. First shot was ok. A sore arm mostly and not feeling the greatest the next day. Second shot still sore arm but a little over 24 hours later I started feeling the same way I did when I had covid and was glad I didn't have to work that day. If I have to get again I think I will try the Johnson and Johnson vaccine. I've heard it doesnt have as many side effects.
Just to let you all know ... I'll be traveling the first two weeks of December so may not be very active here. We're going to my niece's wedding and taking a few extra days of holiday time. I'll have internet access for most of the time, but not sure how often I'll avail myself of the opportunity to check in and update.
I should be back to full participation around Dec 13.

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah.
