Wow! So many great suggestions! If they don't choose House of Leaves, may I join that buddy read? I'll also read whatever is chosen here as well. My suggestion: A Choir Of Ill Children.

Diane | 2 comments The Bunker Diary by Kevin Brooks, it's supposed to be a children's book, but a lot of people have said it's not suitable for children and really frightening.

Since it is already a buddy read we will leave it as that. Plus, with the size of that thing, some people might not be able to finish that and participate in other group reads.

Taylor (taylorloran) +1 for 14 14 by Peter Clines

I read it last summer and I can still remember a lot of the details. (A sign of a good book for me!) I went on a Lovecraft binge afterward because of some the similar themes. I would love to reread and discuss with a group!

Maybe we should do a buddy read sometime if it's not selected. It keeps going up for group nomination, but I don't think enough want to read it to push it through. It's an older book so I understand that, but still would like to at least buddy read it at some point.

message 94: by Albert (new)

Albert Kivak | 3 comments I think The Void by Michael Bray should be read because it's being offered free for a limited time only:

What if your worst nightmares came true?

The Void is a thrilling horror novel centered around a mysterious sinkhole that wrecks havoc upon Maple Street.

Faced with an unknown threat and an uncaring government, the citizens of the sleepy small town are forced to rely on two unlikely heroes, the enigmatic Morgan Brewster, a small boy with an obsession with spiders, and the neighborhood alcoholic, Embry.

Unfortunately for all of them, the bottomless chasm is just the beginning of their problems.
