Aimee Newswanger | 1 comments I grew up in a super conservative Christian world where feminism was a bad word. My husband was
The first real feminist I met and he continually empowers me. I am now just starting to seek out books on the history of feminism and am somewhat ashamed to say this is my first - but definitely NOT my last. The interweaving of the feminist movement and civil rights had never occurred to me. I am so thankful to have read this book! Can't wait for the next recommendation!

"It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities."

And remember: It's never too late to start!

It was my first feministic book either, at least where I knew it was feministic( but can't think of an earlier one), and it was not my last. Emma chooses the books in a great way, I could learn fom every single book at least a bit. I plan to read Maya Angelou's works too, and other works by Gloria Steinem and Alice Walker.

You know, anything's possible if you've got enough nerve.
