Welcome Michael!

Take a look at our master plan in Message 2 and see where there are spaces free -- especially places in the A.-spot. Then see if you have any books you would like to read that fit those categories.
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

I have also included links to buddy reads for the books. If you need ideas of what books to read, you can check the buddy reads for this month. You can also buddy read with us if you see that we are reading anything that interests you.

Happy Reading!

so pick one book from each category?

message 117: by T.J. (new)

T.J. Burns | 2698 comments Michael wrote: "so pick one book from each category?"
"

Sure! If you want to... :D

But you can start by picking out 4 or 5 categories that you will commit to (preferably where the A.-spot is still open) -- our thought was that if everyone committed to 4 or 5 books in different categories, we could finish the challenge at least once.

We, as a team, can read up to 4 books in each category -- but since we're a "just-for-fun" group, we will try to cover all the categories at least once first (for extra points). We also get double points for a buddy read, so try to buddy read as many books as possible.

If you see a book that one (or more) of us in the group is reading and you would like to read it too, we can buddy read. We can use the same book for the same category (or different categories) as long as different readers are reading.

Why don't you just give me a short list of books that you would like to read and I can figure out where to put them.

@TJ @Victoria No one can distract me from my books haha! And yes I am from Bulgaria. School is really stressful here, we have like 12 subjects and every teacher just wants the best results so they really stress us out on the maximum level. It is hard to be an A-student....
You should definetely come to visit! The beauty is unbearable! I want to go to Germany so bad! Learning German at school for the third year now! At first it was really boring and HARD but now I get things! I am getting more and more interested haha!

I had to rewrite them :( AND saved them in a document just in case (once bitten, twice shy...). If you happen to be as ingenuous as me, I recomend you do the same to save you from spending a whole evening racking your brain trying to remember what you said about this or that book...
Anyways, keep it up team!!
Enjoy your reads :)

Michaela (readingrowena) | 723 comments Hey TJ, can we change our descriptions of the book we've read, bc I saw that you read one for #13 and it could go for #16, too and we don't have anything for 16 so maybe you can change it? Also I went for #10 with my last book bc I had the A spot but Victoria has read one already so if we can change I may change to something else?

Yes, we can change. I actually thought my book Gildemer would be better at #11 a venue for a wedding and the book that Victoria has for #11 Magnolia would fit well at #16 a cover or title portraying your perfect wedding weather. But mine might be okay for #16 too. I have another book for flowers so I will probably have to change that anyway.

We get 10 points for finishing a section, so we should probably try to get a variety as you are suggesting -- but the master plan is still good as a guide because some of us have buddy reads scheduled for later in the month for categories that we have committed to the A-spot for.

I wanted to leave some of the easy A-spots (like 16) for the 3 members of our team who haven't chosen any A-spots yet. But since we're half way through the month, I guess that's probably not necessary any more.

So go ahead and read your flower book, Mickey, I can move mine. And as far as the #10 man in the suit is concerned, your book could go to 17 if need be later -- let's see if Lovetoread gets hers read.

(And feel free to help me move books around in our master plan -- I've been doing it non-stop. Just tell me and I will shuffle. If you see a better spot or a free spot for one of your books -- or one of our books, let me know).

T.J. Burns | 2698 comments Another strategy suggestion:

I've been trying to keep up with who has buddy reads scheduled and have listed them on our master plan -- if you have a buddy read scheduled that is not on the plan, please let me know.

Buddy reads show commitment (that may help us strategize and prioritize when choosing what to read next :) ).

Which 2 books have you already finished? And which 3 will you likely read? Mickey (otherwise known as my bff) and I have been strategizing (we may have start moving books around soon for maximum pointage... :D ).

We especially need:

14. camera or photograph on the cover
A. Lovetoread – To All the Boys I've Loved Before

15. a car or transport on the cover
A. Lovetoread – With This Heart

T.J. Burns | 2698 comments I added the notation:
-- READING NOW (WILL FINISH)
to the books I will be able to finish on the master list.

If any of you feels so inclined, could you let me know which books you are reading now (and which you will likely finish)? I want to start moving books around for maximum pointage. We can use any book cover (in any language), so we have lots of options for each book.

Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella

9. make-up or jewelry on the cover (or title)
La ragazza fantasma by Sophie Kinsella
14. camera or photograph on the cover
Charleston Girl by Sophie Kinsella

Hello, sorry I've been mia, my final project is due soon and I'm a bit overwhelmed :S I will finish for sure Daughter of smoke and bone and I'll also TRY to finish Invisible I and another one that I still don't know. If you're trying to maximize our points maybe you can decide which one I should read to help the team. My options are Will Grayson, Will Grayson, Cinder, Wither or Obsidian.

I just sent a message to Michael suggesting he use his buddy read and review for The Sword of Summer to fulfill:
4. Book told from a male point of view

That would free you from Will Grayson. 29. Shoes on the cover (or title) has been done, so you don't need Cinder.

I would suggest that you read:
12. ring(s) on the cover: Wither

(I don't think I'll be getting to our Obsidian buddy read -- unless you and Victoria really want it, then I'll do what I can).

Thanks!

p.s. this is "just for fun" -- don't anyone knock themselves out.
p.p.s. Your final project comes first! :D
