February Buddy Read Discussion
Duration: 01 February 2016 - 29 February 2016

Instructions & Info:

Rules:

Use this thread to find your buddy and determine your book! You can always start by posting books, authors or genres you are interested in. When you decide who your buddy will be and what book(s) you're going to read head on over to the FINAL SIGN UP thread (see link at bottom) and tell me your book and buddy there (there will be instructions to follow).

1. If you want to participate post your name and let people know what genre(s) you are interested in reading and/or any books that you're interested in reading.

2. If you already know who you’d like to read with, go to the Final Sign Up thread and post your information for me!

3. Groups of 3 or more are also fine, the more the merrier.

4.I will create Buddy Discussion Threads for each Buddy group and you will be able to start reading and discussing.

5. There are no rules on what, how much or how often to discuss or how best to pace your reading - whatever works best for each individual group.

5.The challenge will span a month.

6.You CAN sign up for more than one Buddy Read...in fact it's encouraged!

ANY QUESTIONS JUST ASK!

Once you have a buddy, go to the February Sign Up Thread and post your book and your buddy.

Hey Gaelle! I'm totally new to this buddy system. It looks like we like the same types of books, so we should be able to pick something that we both like. I just went through my bookshelf and donated a bunch of books, so I'm trying really hard to read the books I haven't read yet that I've kept. Here are some of the books I have my eye on. If you don't see any you like, I'm definitely open to other books :)

Shadow of Night (All Souls Trilogy, #2) by Deborah Harkness Outlander (Outlander, #1) by Diana Gabaldon Jane Slayre The Literary Classic with a Blood-Sucking Twist by Sherri Browning Erwin Inferno (Robert Langdon, #4) by Dan Brown
any of the Harry Potter books (I'm wanting to re-read them again after Alan Rickman passed)
Sabriel (Abhorsen, #1) by Garth Nix Mr. Murder by Dean Koontz The Bat (Harry Hole, #1) by Jo Nesbø

Hey Sandy,
Awesome! Sounds like a plan :) I've already read The Redbreast and Nemesis, absolutely loving Nesbo's writing! When I found out his actual first book came out, I've been dying to read it, but keep putting it on the back burner.

Hey Gaelle,
Let's do Outlander together. I'm not quite sure if I can do both books in the same month. That way, it can give you some time to read the first one and we can try for Shadow of Night for March :) Plus, I'm borrowing Outlander from my mom and I'd like to get that back to her soon :)

Overall, I'm a pretty big Garth Nix fan. I like how his story concepts are quite different from anything else I've read. As long as you're into fantasy and have an open mind, I think you'll like it by the end.

message 26: by Krissy (new)

Krissy (krissystewart) | 3693 comments Ezi, not sure about Out of Time (Nine Minutes, #2) by Beth Flynn . Let me get back to you after I read the first book. Not sure if I'll like it. I normally don't like MC books. Like, at all. But I have to read Nine Minutes for another challenge which is why I'm forced to read it. But who knows... I might like it. Stranger things have been known to happen!

Storm, yay! I'll sign us up!

I'm into fantasy, plus it's so well regarded! I didn't put it down because I didn't like it - at least, I don't think so? - but just because I was always jumping about books when I was younger, and it meant I never got back to some of them.

Lol. I don't like MC books either and I'm not even sure I liked Nine Minutes (Nine Minutes, #1) by Beth Flynn but I have questions that need resolutions before I can move on. So, I will read book 2.

I also read It Ain't Me, Babe (Hades Hangmen, #1) by Tillie Cole , an MC book, I liked it though
