and you can call on up to three characters from one book to come rescue you. What book by what author and what characters do you choose. And since it would probably be too easy if you chose something like magic users, give me two answers, one from fantasy or sci-fi and one from realistic fiction.

For the fantasy/sci-fi category, I'd go with Isaac Vainio, Lena Greenwood, and Smudge from Libriomancer by Jim C. Hines.

For the realistic fiction, I'd go with the Honourable Phryne Fisher, Detective Inspector John 'Jack' Robinson, and Lin Chung from Murder in Montparnasse by Kerry Greenwood.

Heidi Angell (heidiangell) | 48 comments Oh goodness... This is difficult. Um, for fantasy, I would have to pick Clear Angel and Detective Grant Anderson and from The Clear Angel Chronicles, Elements of a Broken Mind

For real fiction... does Sherlock Holmes count? I know, it kind of feels like a cop out... if not, then Dirk Pitt and Al Giordino from The Dirk Pitt Series.

Erin Germain (demiguise) | 97 comments This is a difficult choice. Well, for fantasy, I chose Alexia Tarabotti, Lord Macon, and Professor Lyall from Soulless by Gail Carriger.

From realistic fiction, that is a bit harder. I guess I'll go with Bishop "Blackie" Ryan and Mike Casey from the Blackie Ryan series by Andrew M. Greeley.

Ashley Marie ohgawd. At the moment I'd probably have to go with the Gentleman Bastards -- that is, Locke Lamora, Jean Tannen and one of the Sanza twins (or perhaps Bug) from The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch.

Other than that I think Lisbeth Salander would do a good job ;)
