I think my favorite theme here was aging. Walton does an amazing job of describing Pat/Trish's aging process, especially the dementia. I think that fuzziness really brings the two worlds together and makes it real, not just a sci-fi thing.
I also liked all the little details. Bee's bees were so great, and so was Trish learning to use a computer in her old age. That's what really made the book real for me. It feels like I knew Pat/Trish.
