C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments Glad You're enjoying your reading, Maya! I've been trying to read books that I'm very interested in, so I'm happy with my reading so far as well. :)

message 17: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4614 comments Picking a book for March was tough as I only read three and liked two of the three the same--a four out of five. I had to go with Ink and Bone as it was really action packed and I feel it took me less time to read.

message 18: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments I'll have to check what I read. Ink and Bone might be my favorite as well.

message 19: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 9905 comments I always have such a hard time figuring out what book is best since I usually read so many good books that I didn't bother with this challenge. I wish I could better pick out which book is the best! :)

message 20: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments I know what you mean. I'm not reading as muc now though, so it's easier to narrow down. Plus there have been some standouts. I mean, Brandon Sanderson books! haha

At the end of the year I like to do a favorite book post, so I narrow it down then which can be hard. I might start doing those every few months.

I'd be a battle of the books for me. I'd end up having like 50 in first place and then several more in second and third. I can always tell which were my LEAST favorite but I'm usually very generous with my favorite. I have more 3,4, and 5 star books than I do 1 or 2. :)

message 22: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments Me too! But I'm also careful about what I read. I try to read books I think I'll love.

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 9905 comments Courtney wrote: "Me too! But I'm also careful about what I read. I try to read books I think I'll love."

I can't read books I don't like. I know some people who can read any book regardless of how they like it but I can't. I've gotten better at it over the years but I'm not afraid to DNF a book if it's bad. :)

message 24: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments I used to always finish books, but now if I really don't like it I put it aside. No point in reading just to read.

message 25: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4614 comments I too have more 3-5 star books.:)

message 26: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4614 comments I've never finished a book, no matter how bad. Something about it just puts me off.

message 27: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments I have friends on here who are constantly rating things 1 and 2 stars. I just don't get it.

message 28: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4614 comments For me I think it's because I was taught to give a book a fair chance which led me to just finishing all of them. Plus, I think finishing books and giving an opinion like that helps other readers--unless you're always picking up the same type of book, in which case you should learn.

message 29: by Kylara (last edited Jan 03, 2017 09:04AM) (new)

Kylara Jensen | 437 comments January: Winter (The Lunar Chronicles, #4) by Marissa Meyer
February: A Head Full of Ghosts by Paul Tremblay
March: The Bands of Mourning (Mistborn, #6) by Brandon Sanderson
April: Probably Fortune's Pawn (Paradox #1) by Rachel Bach
May: The Raven King (The Raven Cycle, #4) by Maggie Stiefvater
June: Ghost Talkers by Mary Robinette Kowal
July: None :(
August: My Lady Jane by Cynthia Hand
September: Love, Lies and Spies by Cindy Anstey
October: Maybe Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy, #1) by Richelle Mead as a series
November: Crooked Kingdom (Six of Crows, #2) by Leigh Bardugo
December: The Backyard Homestead Produce All the Food You Need on Just a Quarter Acre! by Carleen Madigan

message 30: by Kylara (new)

Kylara Jensen | 437 comments I usually only rate a book 1 star if there is something fundamentally wrong with it, either really bad writing or social issues. For instance making the love story violate consent issues or something. I will usually dnf a book if I have no interest in reading it. Sometimes, I can tell it's bad, but I still want to finish it, so I will usually just skim it. But I try to give a book at least 50 pages to draw me in.

message 31: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments 50 pages is usually about what I try to give a book as well. Usually by that point I know if I want to continue or not.

message 32: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments Just updated for April. I only finished three books in the month, so it wasn't too hard to narrow it down. :)

message 33: by Kylara (last edited May 02, 2016 08:51AM) (new)

Kylara Jensen | 437 comments I read a fair amount of books in April but most of them were meh.

message 34: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments So still probably not too hard to narrow down. I hope your reads in May are better!

message 35: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4614 comments I too only read three books so the process was easy.

message 36: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments Looks like we were the same, Jackie! Pretty sure you'll get more read in May though. ;)

message 37: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4614 comments Probably, but you'll be having a blast and I'll be having a blast of pain. haha.:)

Yes they are! I know I should have waited till more books in the series came out, now the waiting is killing me XD
Is Calamity as good as the previous Reckoners books?

I personally thought it was, probably even better! I loved it. Could barely put it down.

message 45: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments Somewhat cheated on May...I read Finding Daylight the first time in January, but again in May. Since I only read two books (and it was the best!), I had to choose it anyway. :)

message 46: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments Persuasion is another favorite of mine! And I really want to read a John Scalzi book, I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

message 47: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments Just updated my favorite for July. Took me long enough. It was hard to pick as well. I read some good books, but none that were standout amazing, so it made it a hard decision.

Ohh I hate when that happens. But glad you found one. I know August is already going to be like that for me.

message 49: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments It can be frustrating! Maybe you'll end up finding an amazing one this month. :)

I don't know. I might have that one 5 star. For now I have a couple of 4.5 stars that were really good.
