Grimdark Fantasy discussion

It's that time. We'll be starting a new group read next month.

Start with nominations and then we'll put up a poll later this month.

The City Stained Red by Sam Sykes. Dude is pretty hilarious in Twitter and podcasts so I'd like to know how he combined humor in his grimdark novels.

Since we've been talking about it Magician. I know its not grimdark, but its been in my list for ages!

And second City Stained Red.

Since the second book in the series just came out, I'd like to nominate City of Stairs by Robert Jackson Bennett.

I love City of Stairs. The second book is more grimdark than the first.

An very old book, very dark, bloody and good.

Shadow Of The Wolf. Shame it has only 9 ratings.

I'm loving the nominations so far. A Crown for Cold Silver has intrigued me from day one. I love that the main character is an older woman.

City of Stairs has been frequently lauded. And Shadow of the Wolf sounds really, really good.
