I would suggest you go to each author's page and contact them individually. Our readers don't like getting inundated with author-related shop talk. It interests them about about as much as if you were suddenly flooded with emails about women's high-heeled shoes. I'm certain the authors would LOVE to be featured in your magazine, it's just that THIS is a reader-centric community.

Just a quick question. I don't want to get banned. What if someone specifically asks you a question about your book, is it okay to answer?
Could you create a thread just for authors promotions so the readers have a choice to look if they want? I am only asking because I will do a week free on Amazon. Always looking to promote when it's available for free.
Why isn't there just a single thread dedicated just to self-promotion? That way people can look if they want, or they can ignore it if they don't care!

Dear Authors & Bloggers:
We adore you and have tried for many years to provide a safe place for you to connect with readers and promote your books and websites and blogs, but the readers have weighed in and they really, really hate all the self-promotion. Goodreads is a clunky format to moderate, we are down to one active MOD, while our membership is higher than ever. Having to manage book-and-blog spam takes time we no longer have.
Therefore, beginning today going forward, there will be ABSOLUTELY NO SELF-PROMOTION ALLOWED IN THIS COMMUNITY AT ALL. Violators will be immediately banned. No excuses. No warning. The only kinds of posts we will allow are the following very limited circumstances.
1. Informal Read-to-Review program - we have an informal R2R program where YOU post a request for review and invite people to read it. YOU will manage it. If it gets abused, we will have to do away with it.
2. We Found Free Ebooks - Keep this to the SINGLE THREAD up in General, not individual posts. Just tack your book at the very end and interested people will find it (must be strings-free free, not KU-paid-free). That allows us to keep it neat and tidy, and also up in the top of the community where the thread is visible instead of banished to the bottom. Do not post your own, individual thread! If you post it anyplace except this very limited place, or post something that is not no-strings-attached free, the post will be deleted and you will immediately be banned. No excuses. No warning.
3. Book of the Month club - NO LONGER ACTIVE ... we've moved into a "popular cult series" read as it's the only format readers seem to respond to. Sorry :-( It was too much work to maintain.
4. Reading Challenges - NO LONGER ACTIVE. Sorry :-(
We're sorry we have to eliminate self-promotion, but readers hated it and we just couldn't keep up with the spam. We've been feeling overwhelmed and deleting/moving unwanted and inappropriate promotional posts has sapped our energy to do what we love to do, which is talk to our members about nifty paranormal topics.
We hope you understand.
