- A book based on a fairy tale
- A National Book Award winner
- A YA bestseller
Red Queen (Red Queen, #1) by Victoria Aveyard Red Queen - good, but I feel a trifle overhyped.
- A book you haven't read since high school
The Giver (The Giver, #1) by Lois Lowry An old school book I brushed up on for this challenge
- A book set in your home state
Pretty Little Liars (Pretty Little Liars, #1) by Sara Shepard
- A book translated to English
The Trial by Franz Kafka The Trial - it may be a classic, but it was just too deep and confusing for me.
- A romance set in the future
- A book set in Europe
Us by David Nicholls Us - don't know what I think about this one, very real but some of the characters are just irritating.
- A book that's under 150 pages
Andromache by Euripides Andromache - a classic that was so soap opera-esque it was rather painful
- A New York Times bestseller
Go Set a Watchman (To Kill A Mockingbird #2) by Harper Lee Go Set a Watchman - an interesting take on an old classic, it was definitely a more adult look at Scout's world and the time period. Though To Kill a Mockingbird was way better.
- A book that's becoming a movie this year
The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins So good. Unnerving but good.
- A book recommended by someone you just met
- A self-improvement book
- A book you can finish in a day
Naruto Shikamaru's Story (Naruto Novels) by Masashi Kishimoto Eh. About what I expected.
- A book written by a celebrity
Yes Please by Amy Poehler A great and hilarious piece - I listened to it on audiobook and I was laughing like a crazy person in my car.
- A political memoir
- A book at least 100 years older than you
- A book that's more than 600 pages
Cronkite by Douglas Brinkley Cronkite - a long read, but interesting if you're into this kind of thing.
- A book from Oprah's Book Club
- A science-fiction novel
Deceived (Star Wars The Old Republic, #2) by Paul S. Kemp Deceived - About what you'd expect.
- A book recommended by a family member
- A graphic novel
- A book that is published in 2016
- A book with a protagonist who has your occupation
Unzipped (A Chrissy McMullen Mystery, #1) by Lois Greiman Unzipped... not too far off from Janet Evanovich's work, a quick funny read
- A book that takes place during Summer
Maine by J. Courtney Sullivan Maine - not bad, though I had the strong urge to slap some of the characters...
- A book and its prequel
The Kingdom (Fargo Adventure, #3) by Clive Cussler
The Tombs (Fargo Adventure, #4) by Clive Cussler - Clive Cussler is a great, easy read. Love his books.
- A murder mystery
Unhinged (Home Repair is Homicide, #6) by Sarah Graves Unhinged - an enjoyable read from an enjoyable author
- A book written by a comedian
- A dystopian novel
The White Rose (The Lone City, #2) by Amy Ewing The middle of a trilogy - suspense ramping up, but the execution felt slightly rushed.
- A book with a blue cover
One Way or Another by Elizabeth Adler Not impressed. Way too shallow to be overly interesting.
- A book of poetry
- The first book you see in a bookstore
- A classic from the 20th century
Amerika by Franz Kafka An interesting read.
- A book from the library
First Test (Protector of the Small, #1) by Tamora Pierce Never get tired of reading these books. Favorite from my childhood.
- An autobiography
Angela's Ashes (Frank McCourt, #1) by Frank McCourt A great and moving read.
- A book about a road trip
- A book about a culture you're unfamiliar with
The Sandcastle Girls by Chris Bohjalian
- A satirical book
- A book that takes place on an island
The Solomon Curse (Fargo Adventure, #7) by Clive Cussler The Solomon Curse - it may follow the same formula, but the series continues to interest me and leave me with some breathless moments
- A book that's guaranteed to bring you joy
