There have been a few nature books that I've picked up over the past year. The title of all of them seems to depend on the colon.

Sightlines: A Conversation with the Natural World
The Old Ways: Journeys on Foot
Wild Comforts: The Solace of Nature

Not to judge books too much by their titles. But these books, through their titles are making reference to something such as the "secular sacred" from Wild Comforts.

I actually quite liked Sightlines. It's a series of essays of varying length and different topics, and though like The Old Ways, it had a lot of UK inspired scenery, I felt less like an outsider when reading the book and more able to share in the authors passion for the places she was visiting and the things she was learning.

It's a busy time of the year, so it's nice to have a book like this where the author is able to share a sense of wonderment with the world that is sometimes lost in how the days go by.
