You are on the hunt for this semi-precious gemstone, a fossilized remnant of tree sap often trapping flora & fauna within.

If you have any real amber in your collection, I'm sure we'd love to 'Ooooo" & 'Ahhh' over it, too...pictures are welcome.

But don't forget to tell us about the books you are reading & if they are worth our time, too! Thanks

I don't own any true amber, just a few representative samples of copal amber...with some gnats...from Madagascar. Copal is relatively young (hundreds to thousands of years) & not considered a true fossil. Baltic is the most commonly known, true, fossilized amber...mostly from the areas around Russia, I believe.

I have chosen to read a new author...romantic suspense about stolen amber worth a fortune. Amber Beach
Interesting factual bits about amber, Russian history & world politics. Prompted me to study a couple hours on the countries that broke off, many having attempted to adopt a capitalist economic & politic policy, rather disastrous without the proper infrastructure. Also widened my knowledge on amber & really spoke to me regarding ancient people's motivations.
The suspense & romance were decent read, but the politics & triple dealing got a bit boring & dragged...not my cuppa apparently. Kept me reading, gave it 4*; worked great for this challenge.
