Loved it,but it wasn't perfect. But my favorite, nonetheless!
I thought the book was absolutely awful. It seemed like an attempt to emotionally manipulate readers. Who wouldn't want to read something about so controversial? But the problem is that this is a real topic, and tragedies like this face kids too often to be taken lightly. So, to give half-lives to these...half-characters and place them in a situation that is so awful is a gambit that sadly worked well for the author. Except she didn't give her characters the justice of being well-rounded people. Instead, they're just stand-ins...because, omg, school shooting, death, tragedy. It was cheap and hollow. No well written at all.
