What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

I'm sorry if I don't have enough info! I didn't finish the story! I don't even know what genera
it would go under

In this story each chapter was in the persecutive of a new kid, at the end there were these picture and theres a message in it and you have to figure out the mystery of the story with all the pictures. Each chapter the kids (Who have been waiting for this moment all their life) Notice that these people or aliens ( I don't remember ) are like invading earth or something. I only remember one girl was at her at her graduation and they attacked.

- It was written by two authors
-They hired like special people to make the secret messages
-There was a prize in las Vegas for who every figured it out
-All the picture were like designs, one kind of looked like a recipe

If you mean each chapter was told from the perspective of a different kid - about how many different kids tell the story?

Does the story take place all on Earth? Where are the kids from?
