Fishface | 2011 comments My dear Scrod. I heard this morning that today is Iggy Pop's 69th birthday, and I was terrified that he wouldn't make it any farther that David Bowie, who only made it 2 days past his 69th. Then I heard Prince died this morning during a bout of what seemed to be the flu, and they all made a point of mentioning that he's only a few years older than I am, almost 10 years younger than Iggy.

Shocking! They sure are making a big deal about him on TV today. They even interrupted Jeopardy! How could they do that!!!!

Some say flu, some say severe pneumonia, some say drug overdose.

message 44: by Fishface (new)

Fishface | 2011 comments The completion of Prince's autopsy was, unbelievably, announced on NPR as I was driving over here today. As if a gaudy, tinpot thing like stage charisma ever interested those guys before in history. They are waiting for all the test results to come back before they say anything definite, but hastened to mention that there were no signs of violence, and absolutely no indication of suicide. You'd think he was the president or something!

I was thinking the same thing and here in Minnesota we are getting it even more as that is Prince's home state. My sister-in-law used to live close to Graffiti Bridge. I saw it once and shortly after that they tore it down. She lives in Eden Prairie which is where Prince lives. Apparently she showed his mansion to some other family members. Now I'm disappointed she never showed it to me. Maybe next time I'm there. I live 3 hours away from her so dont get there very often.

They were each as big as the other in their respective genres. It's a shame that the one with the outrageous behavior gets all the press.
