Donna Higton (donsy) | 7 comments Hey guys

I have been wondering whether to add the RSS of my blog to Goodreads...on the plus side, it's obviously easier, on the minus side, I don't blog just about books and writing so I'm not sure it's appropriate for Goodreads.

Is there a standard to go by? Most of the blogs I've seen on Goodreads are related to books and writing, so if anyone has linked their blog via RSS to Goodreads that's not solely (or mostly) about books/writing, I'd love to see it.

Thanks a million

I just started a weekly series about supernatural creatures on my blog and it's linked to goodreads. But I also post book reviews (when I find the time to read) and I write fantasy novels so it's related to my writing.

Geoff Woodland | 27 comments Donna,
I linked my blog to Goodreads, which includes travel, un PC comments, books, and chunks of a bio that I am writing to 'test' the water. Give it a go and see what happens :-o)
As far as I know there is only one person on GR that reads that blog so that tells you something :-o)
Link is below if you wish to have a look.

Stacy McKitrick | 7 comments My blog is not solely on books and writing and I link it to my Goodreads page. I link it to my Amazon page, too. It's just another way for me to be seen and it's free. I'll take free. :)

I think the intelligent people on Goodreads are capable of enjoying many different subjects and varied opinions. I'm pretty sure they enjoy other things besides books and writing. If you're not sure if anyone will be interested, maybe you should cut and paste for now.

Jim Vuksic Donna,

The important thing is that the blogger be sincere, honest and interesting. Subject matter may vary from one post to another. The blog will gradually attract a loyal and varied following. One person's best blog ever may be another's worst.

Feel what you write and write what you feel. Followers will occasionally post a comment agreeing with your perspective and others disagree in part or entirely. What a dull and boring world this would be if everyone thought the same.

Whatever you decide, it will be the best decision for your particular situation. I wish you success.

That's a good point Stacy...and I don't think I've linked my blog to my Amazon page...right, that's on the list for this week! Thanks. xx
