Challenge rules:
* Each letter has its own points score (as above).
* Each letter can only be used as many times as it appears on a scrabble board (as above)
* Blanks are freebies, and can be used for any letter, they will be awarded 1 point each.
* If a team manages to complete all 100 tiles, they may start the board for a second time.
* Books must be read between the 1st of March to the 31st of March inclusive.
* Books must be over 100 pages long, without illustrations. (150 pages minimum for middle-grade books, 300 pages minimum for poetry or books written in verse.)
* Please check with us about re-reads before reading.

* You can use other editions which have other titles, but only if the title is written using english letters, editions which are written in greek letters or arabic etc. won't count.

Points:
* Points will be awarded based on the letter used (as above)
* Buddy reads (which take place within our group) will gain the team 1 bonus point for books under 450 pages, and 2 bonus points for books 450 pages or longer.
* There will be no individual rankings in this game as not everyone will be able to use the higher value letters.

I loved Scarlet and Hex Hall, hope you enjoy them as much as I did!! :)

I made a spreadsheet so it's easier to keep track of our books... If it's confusing, you don't have to use it, I just wanted to have everything organised before we start :)

Hi Team!

I added your books to the master list at the top. We can move the "the," "an," and "a" books around as need be. If you have a buddy read, I can add that to the list. I think half the fun of having teams is to buddy read. If I see that someone is reading something I want to read, I might jump in!

Thanks for making a spreadsheet, Idil! It makes sense that everyone be able to edit. I can't open it, though. Do I have to be invited? I was able to open another team's spreadsheet (without logging into Google -- that would be my preference. I don't like Google tracking). Maybe you can change the settings? See spreadsheet below:

I agree with Sofi. I think everyone should just read whatever s/he wants and we see what we get in the end. The list at the top and/or the spreadsheet can just be a guide when picking what to read. :D

Idil, me too! Cinder was so good that I'm dying to read the rest and just got ahold of Scarlet (my favorite fairytale in the first place!). And Hex Hall has been on my to read list for a while. Red Queen, too, but I saw that you were reading already and didn't want to step on your toes lol :)

Well, I am almost sure that I am reading and but I don't know anything more. I most probably will finish the other four books from True Blood but I don't know if I am going to like the first and keep reading them. I'll let you know next week when I decide on the other ones or l8r this week.

So the multi-language option gives us all kinds of possibilities -- and it can be any language using the Latin Alphabet. Greek, Arabic, Hebrew, Cyrillic (Sorry, Mickey!) are all out. Hey, I didn't make the rules... I just read books (mostly in English these days).

So, everyone can pretty much read anything s/he wants, I would say...

Hey guys! I had accidentally made the other spreadsheets with my school email account so it didn't allow me to make it public which is why you couldn't access it... Sofi, I am from Bulgaria! :)

TJ, I was wondering something but I'll have to ask the mods.. Some of the letters in the Bulgarian Alphabet are the same as in the English alphabet, maybe I can use them? (Н, М, К, О, Т, Е, А, Х, В, Р, У, С - these I wrote in Cyrillic and you can see are the same they just sound differently). I will ask when the challenge comes around bc I think it's an interesting question.. :))

You don't need to save the sheet, it automatically saves itself!

That's a great idea! I'm sad I can't use buddy reads from other groups because I have 3-4 coming up, but it's ok, I'll just find some buddy reads here!!

The spreadsheet thing is so comfortable to use, I am finding out about new possibilities I never knew of haha google is not my thing :D
