Rules:
* Each letter has its own points score (as above).
* Each letter can only be used as many times as it appears on a scrabble board (as above)
* Blanks are freebies, and can be used for any letter, they will be awarded 1 point each.
* If a team manages to complete all 100 tiles, they may start the board for a second time.
* Books must be read between the 1st of March to the 31st of March inclusive.
* Books must be over 100 pages long, without illustrations. (150 pages minimum for middle-grade books, 300 pages minimum for poetry or books written in verse.)
* Please check with us about re-reads before reading.

* You can use other editions which have other titles, but only if the title is written using english letters, editions which are written in greek letters or arabic etc. won't count.

Points:
* Points will be awarded based on the letter used (as above)
* Buddy reads (which take place within our group) will gain the team 1 bonus point for books under 450 pages, and 2 bonus points for books 450 pages or longer.
* There will be no individual rankings in this game as not everyone will be able to use the higher value letters.

Hi Berit! Same team again, I see.

I've got some buddy reads planned with Allison on this team, is it okay if I claim those letters already for us? :)

Sure! Which letters are they? We can start keeping record.

We want to read Stars Above, Winter, Lady Midnight, Crown of Midnight, Heir of Fire, and Magnus Chase. So 2 of each of those letters if possible! :)

Mystery, you can't escape me, LOL! Although I think we've won twice when we've been together :-)

You guys have won twice? That's awesome :) this is Allison and I's first time doing serious!

Okay. I've got City of Stairs, Graceling, Just One Day, Ruby Red and The Dream Thieves planned so far. And I'm gonna read Lady Midnight and Stars Above as well.

That means: S x3, W x2, L x3, C x3, H x2, T x2, G x1, J x1, R x1, D x1.
Since there are only 2 C's, I'm putting one for blank for now.

That leaves letters:

A×9, B ×2, D ×4, E ×12, F ×2, G ×2, I ×9, K ×1, L ×1, M ×2, N ×6, O ×8, P ×2, Q ×1, R ×5, S ×1, T ×4, U ×4, V ×2, X ×1, Y ×2, Z ×1, blank ×1

I can't say for sure that no one will read any books for those letters but if not, they're yours.

You could join us in that buddy read then? :) we'd get more points

And Berit, it's funny how we keep ending up on the same team. But so cool. And I think we've won once when we were in the same team (in January) but I can't say for sure if there was a time before that.

I actually need a C for my book club book, other than that let me think about it.
Maybe we should limit how many books everyone can claim, otherwise somebody's going to be left with X, Q, and Z, LOL!
Also there are only 102 tiles, and if we even need divide that up at 17, so I'm guessing we probably will get through this more than once???

Yea I'm sure we can do that :) and yea I think limits on claim is best, and once we get through what we claimed we can claim more?

I also want to read Game of Lives and Infinite Sea, could I claim those too? :) that's all I know for sure now, so I'd get through those first before picking more

Yeah. That would work.
Let's just say you can only claim the next two books you're gonna read. When you've done one, claim another.

I'm reading City of Stairs on the 1st and I have a BR of Dream Thieves on the 4th.

I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to read this month, I don't have many descriptions left. Let me give some thought to next month, I just know my bookclub read :-)

I just noticed that we have a annoying amount of E, I and O's. They aren't exactly easy letter. Gonna have to do something about them.

I think I'll be doing Every day by David Levithan. Just to knock off at least one of the twelve E's.

I just went through by library, and I have a lot of E and And I books I haven't read yet., I'll check my O books later :-)

Oh wow yea we have tons of E's. I have a huge stack of books to get through though, so I'll try to do a lot of E's out of that while getting through my list of books I for sure want to read :)

Hey guys! For my first two books, I want to do Winter as a buddy read with Meaghan and Assassin's Blade :)

Okay so that's 2 Ws(Allison and Meaghan), 1 D(Mystery), 2 C's (one for me, one for Berit), one A(Allison) and 1 I(Meaghan) so far.

And there are no more W's or C's available.

Where did the second C come from? I didn't see it mentioned so I'm just curious :)

Berit's Book club book is a C.

This is my first time doing a monthly challenge and being on a team, so I might need some help. :)

This is my second time, so I might be able to help some, but I know Berit and Mystery have done this a couple times and can always help! We're doing this challenge by claiming two books at a time (it's explained more specifically above), so do you know two books you want to read? So you can claim those letters so others don't take them :)

Not a problem! We are just listing the first couple books we plan to read next month, so we can claim those letters.

And welcome to the craziness!!! :-)

Melanie is also a pro! I think we are in good hands :-)

Mystery - two teams in a row!! :D

I will be going through my books. I know I can pretty much cover any letter and definitely want a Y, A, and W. Could also take a V. X is the tough one for me. :/

Oh yay! We're doing it by claiming it two at a time this time around :) but I'm sure I or someone else will be able to cover the other tough ones
