Tina (trwriteratwork) | 79 comments I'm just starting part two now..and I loved all the doggy talk..makes me want to play with a puppy read bad!

Elena | 101 comments Part two?

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 7086 comments Mod
The book is organized into three parts.

Susan Im starting this one today!

Elena | 101 comments Oh i totally missed that - 3 parts... Im listening to it on audio !

Susan Im liking this book but Simon is kind of a jerk!! Lol

Britney | 380 comments He is kind of a jerk lol. I think Fiona has a lot more patience than I would. But, in book life, he's hot haha!

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 7086 comments Mod
Yeah, I had Simon in the dog house for quite some time.

Britney | 380 comments Jonetta wrote: "Yeah, I had Simon in the dog house for quite some time."

LOL

Kris (My Novelesque Life) (mynovelesquelife) I just started this novel today so will come back tomorrow to discuss.

Elena | 101 comments Ok so - i've wanted to smack Simon quite a few times!! At some point he's told her to "shut up" 4 times in two pages!! Wht the hell?!? How is this acceptable?! She didn't even get mad!! Imagine someone telling you to shut up?!? My husband would be super pissed if i did that and i'd probably kill him if he told that to me!!

Susan Elena wrote: "Ok so - i've wanted to smack Simon quite a few times!! At some point he's told her to "shut up" 4 times in two pages!! Wht the hell?!? How is this acceptable?! She didn't even get mad!! Imagine som..."

I know right? Why doesn't she slap him??

Elizabeth | 27 comments I agreed also about Simon, but I really like him now. I like how he seems to act like a jerk but he is really into surprising Fiona. Like the tree and I really believe he is going to build Fiona something really special and he keeps checking on her and spends the night with her after her mail scare.

I hate men who are all talk and no follow through.

Shannan (shanoel) | 6 comments I must love grouchy men because I can't get enough of Simon.

Susan Shannan wrote: "I must love grouchy men because I can't get enough of Simon."

Can I send my husband over then Shannan? Lol

Elena | 101 comments Lol :) yes, my husband would fit the bill , too :))

Elizabeth - i agree, generally he does "take care of her" (in a good way!) - he seems very dependable and solid! Just a little too grumpy for my taste.
Also, a bit later on - we are led to believe that he's a slob... Which is not unusual for a guy, but he throws a fit when Fiona does his laundry and makes him wear fresh shirts - i mean, come on ! -ewww! Otherwise you would have worn dirty shirts?!?

Britney | 380 comments I'm with you guys. Fiona has some major patience. I would of slapped him a few times and rolled him down a hill or something haha. BUT he does redeem himself a little here and there. And gosh dang why is that arrogant attitude so HOT sometimes?!

Kris (My Novelesque Life) (mynovelesquelife) So I am about 50% into the novel and am really enjoying. I like dogs but I am not a animal person (ie: owning them myself) and I find the stuff they mention in the book interesting. And, after reading some comments on Simon I was expecting to dislike him but I kind of like him. I would have bought that wine cabinet just in spite tho! I am also liking the lead up to the mystery as well. Can't wait to go home and read the rest!

Britney | 380 comments I thought when I first read it , even if I didn't have animals I would find this one interesting. This book really taught me a lot lol. And OH MY GOSH the wine cabinet thing is infuriating!!

Elizabeth | 27 comments I am half way through. Fiona is getting ready to go on her spa trip and it is getting very suspenseful.

Tina (trwriteratwork) | 79 comments I'm just starting chapter 20...Simon's going on the S-and-R with Fiona...I'm liking this part a lot. In the last couple of chapters, I started feeling like it's getting too wordy and long but the pace is picking up and it's getting more exciting now. :)

Tina (trwriteratwork) | 79 comments I just finished it...it was thoroughly entertaining! Absolutely wonderful! :)

Elena | 101 comments I also finished! It was good, but not amazing for me! I liked the suspense and buildup of the mystery (view spoiler)...
Also - i got bored with the dog training stuff! I love dogs and all, but I didn't sign up to read a doggy training manual...

But overall - a good, fast read !

Kris (My Novelesque Life) (mynovelesquelife) I finished this last night and enjoyed it. I wasn't bothered by the training stuff as much the anticlimactic ending. I wish it was more suspenseful but I read it more as a contemporary romance with a bit of mystery.

Tina (trwriteratwork) | 79 comments I haven't been around dogs/pups or even other animals much. So I didn't know what to expect when I started reading this one but I loved it..everything from the training to their behaviours and Jaws' silly antics - it makes me want a cute lil puppy of my own (I remember wanting one when I was about 5 but my parents never went for it..they knew I wouldn't want the responsibility..) But now I feel like I missed out..or maybe I'm ready for it now.
I also loved Fiona and Simon together, they were so different and yet so right for each other. Simon's thoughts and fears of sneakily being trained by Fiona's 'quiet patience' was just hilarious..and so were some of their arguments and the way they admitted their feelings for each other inch by inch. Kept me laughing even when the suspense was getting serious.
The story felt a little too long at times and not enough action-packed at the end but I still liked it. I hate to think about how Kati would recover from what she went through. I was amazed by how far Fiona has come to be able to beat Perry at his game like that.. And I'm glad Simon finally got some punches in. ;)

I agree, Tanvi. I really liked Simon and Fiona together. They show how opposites attract. I am so glad she got her cabinet too!

Tina (trwriteratwork) | 79 comments Yes Kris! It was infuriating the way he kept saying that wine cabinet didn't suit her etc. but it was so sweet that he made one just for her..he did so many things for her in his own way..Simon's so great!

Britney | 380 comments I've been so behind! But I finally finished this re read last night. I agree completely about the ending! I had forgotten how much of a let down it was for me.

Yes, I was so happy did that cabinet. Also, I kind of wanted to see how that stump sink looks, lol.

No worries, Britney there is no real timeline :) Glad you were able to reread with us. I agree about the ending.

Elena | 101 comments Yeah, I was pretty disappointed with the ending, too ...
And with that - I couldn't give it 5*... couldn't even give it 4*, so I feel kind of mean, but 3.5* is what it gets from me! :(
Hey - 3* still means I liked it , I just didn't love it :D

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 7086 comments Mod
It's your rating, Elena, and it doesn't seem mean.

I was so caught up in that climax and then it just...ended. Such a letdown and it's why I didn't give it a 5.

I felt the same way. I also gave it a 4.

That's is totally fair, Elena.

Tina (trwriteratwork) | 79 comments I was also somewhat disappointed by the climax but more than that, I was very relieved that it was finally over. I would have liked a bit more of an action scene or an extended standoff but I was really glad that it was finally over, that Fiona was free from her past completely and Simon and Fiona could move past all this and focus on their future.

That is true! The poor thing has been living half a life since her attack.
