Really interesting, but it was a little too fact-heavy. "In this century, this happened. and then in this century, this happened. .. and on and on for 800 pages. It got tedious at times, but her thesis is pretty engaging. Should have retitled: Western Marriage: A History since she only focused on Euro-American marriages, though. As it is, it's a bit Eurocentric.

A quick graphic novel. Beautiful Illustrations, and the premise of the story was beautiful and tragic. The writing and characters were a bit flat, however, and their reactions to various situations weren't really believable. I liked the theme, but it was all a bit too melodramatic for my taste.
