Laura Amazing list!

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 12919 comments Mod
Impossible. I've got some rescheduling to do but until then, I've got to keep them on this plan.

Yeah, it's embarrassing. I'm reading far under my normal monthly average and getting behind. I'll be paring it down once I reschedule some stuff:)

That is one LONG list, but it has some good books on it :0)

They're all calling to me!! But, when I look at the list I grow weary. I'm fixing this within the next couple of days.

Toward the end of last year, I realized that I was reading fewer and fewer of the books on my plan, and planning was actually decreasing my motivation to read.

So this year, I've decided to keep my planning to a minimum (only group and buddy reads) and just read whatever grabs my fancy.

I've also limited my challenges as they were also forcing me to read books that I wasn't really into. It's working so far *crossing fingers*

I'm not sure what my issues are these days. I'm liking what I'm reading and what's next to read. Just finding myself getting distracted a lot. I've gone from about 17 books/month to 12 or 13. So, I'm now 10 books behind because of commitments I made.

The good news is I seem to be finding my mojo again. I'm halfway through the current book and just might finish today.

Glad you've got your mojo back. It is really distressing to lose it.

I'm in the same boat. I've been more and more distracted by t.v. I've become addicted to binge serial watching. Also, I made a decision to be more "present" this year, so I'm reading less while on the run.

Sunny, is it better?

message 13: by Laura (new)

Laura Reading should be fun and something you escape to, not something you need to escape from.

Sunny (wkonsunshine) | 426 comments Jonetta wrote: "Sunny, is it better?"

Yes, I'm more present in the world. It prompted me to join a women's jiu jitsu class on Women Empowered and I LOVE it. I'm finding that I'm liking the books I'm reading more as well.

@Laura, I agree. I let reading and reviewing start to become a burden. Not sure how that happened, but it snuck up on me.

Very true, Laura! I'll wear that as a mantra this month.

I'm determined to read 14 days this month.

I've seriously pared down this list (except for my audiobooks as I like being able to choose from those I've targeted for the year).

Feeling better. Still not realistic but I wanted to list the 20 books I'd most like to choose from.

I am! Thank you, Tracey. Last night, I could not stop reading! Feeling better, thanks to all the encouragement here. Words matter and those above certainly made a difference.

message 20: by Tracey (new)

Tracey (trakka) | 1363 comments Excellent! I think sometimes it helps to be told that it's OK that you don't feel like reading much and then that sparks off the reading again!
