Serena walked to the counter and placed her usual order. Honey oat bread, ham and cheese and chips and a cookie. Boy, was she hungry...
The silence stretched between the two girls. Serena had never really socialised with anyone before, so she wasn't exactly sure what to do. She wasn't sure Vivian counted as her friend, she had threatened her after all... She pursed her lips and looked down at the table.
Vivian read her mind. She sighed."look,I'm not your typical happy girl who makes friends easily,The only reason I'm here is because you invited me and I like you because you weren't scared of me,"
Serena immediately closed her energy. Gosh, she was so stupid. Why would she keep her mind open when she was sitting with a mind reader right in front of her? She looked up at Vivian and was about to talk when their food came. Serena smiled at the waitress and took her sandwich out of her hands.
Vivi started eating her food looking down the whole time. She didn't know how to make conversation.
"So..." Said Serena, throwing a couple of chips in her mouth. "How's life?"
"Ah" said Serena, nodding her head. "I pretty much try to keep things normal. Well, as normal as they get, anyways." She studied Vivi picking the lettuce out of her sandwich. She was starting to like her more and more. She wondered if they would ever see each other again or they would just go separate ways and never come across each other.
Vivi nodded."this is the first conversation that didn't end up with me killing someone or hating them."
Serena cracked a smile at this. She knew what it was like. She could never get rid of this overload of power in her mind. She always sensed people energy, and could never turn it off. Even though her mother told her to use this power, Serena had started getting annoyed by it. One time, when she was talking to a store clerk, her energy kept getting in her way, so she had just slammed her against a wall. Of course, no one had known it was her, so they just thought the clerk was crazy and had just slammed herself against a wall, but Serena felt so guilty after that. Afterwards, small things like that kept happening to her. It was like her power was too much for her to control. She nodded at Vivianne in understanding.
"We might be different but we are somehow alike"She said looking at her,not reading her mind, just sensing it.
Serena noticed that there was no disturbance in her energy. That meant Vivian had not read her mind. This made her relax even more.
"Yeah," she muttered. "We are."
"Yeah," she muttered. "We are."
Serena thought back into her childhood and her family. There was so much to tell, she didn't know where to start. She shrugged.
"There's not much to say." She lied. Trying to turn the topic away from herself she asked, "What about you?" She was not much of a talker, but Serena was a great listener. She glanced at her watch, and realised it was around 3:00. Wow, time was passing quickly.

Serena nodded. She knew what Vivian meant. She threw away the wrapper of her sandwich and her napkins, and stood up to brush off her pants.
"I should probably get going." She said. She knew Gisele was going to come over that afternoon. "How can I contact you?"

((I'm sorry, I completely forgot, I have a roleplay to go to with Serena. I hope we can roleplay again some other time :) ))
Serena took the ring tentatively and was about to slip it onto her finger when she stopped abruptly. She didn't know what the ring could do, so she didn't want to put it onto her finger. She slipped it into her pocket instead.
"See you!" She exclaimed at Vivian, a hint of a smile creeping up her cheeks. She pulled the door open and held it for Vivian. But when she looked back, Vivian was already gone. Serena shrugged and headed back home.
