Celebrated Crimes
You can either get this in one big lump, or separated out into more than a dozen smaller books. Written by none other than Alexandre Dumas, author of The Count of Monte Cristo, The Three Musketeers and The Man in the Iron Mask, among other obscure works.

But there are exceptions! Here and there you find a really big-deal writer who writes an article, an essay or even a whole book on a true crime. Examples:
The Book Of Murder is made up of short TC pieces by really famous authors, for instance the essay Kurt Vonnegut wrote about Tony Costa, who you can also read about here: In His Garden: The Anatomy of a Murderer. He wrote the article on Costa because his daughter knew the guy.
Can anyone else recommend something really good on a true crime case, preferably NOT fictionalized, written by a big-time author? I'm looking for either a whole book or a collection of smaller pieces...
