Vicki Willis Ryan C. Thomas (The Summer I Died) was over the top for me.
Totally agree about Laymon.

A.R. LaBaere? | 6 comments The works of Clive Barker, the Hannibal Lecter Series, and We Live Inside You all contain examples of unnerving body horror and putrescent fluids. Certain short Stephen King works, such as Survivor Type, The Raft, and The Jaunt are quite visceral as well. Some of the works listed contain the supernatural, and some do not, but all are thought-provoking and stomach-churning.

Shaun Horton | 324 comments If you're looking for gruesome, disgusting, and splatterpunk, I would toss Cows by Matthew Stokoe. Personally, I haven't read more then the blurb, and a handful of reviews, but it's fun recommending it to people.
