Here's my blog, if you're interested in checking it out. http://mayatylerauthor.blogspot.ca
Also, anyone out there have an interest in reading or writing paranormal romance? I'd love to get your perspectives.

Thanks so much, Susan!

You seem to have a few Allisons already, I thought I'd stir up some confusion by adding a one L Alison. This is my first foray into Goodreads groups, this looks like a fun and active group so I'm looking forward being involved.
I love to read can-lit, fantasy, sci-fi, classic lit, murder mysteries, and the occasional non fiction. As a sci-fi fan I was very excited to see Company Town on the Canada Reads list, it was great to see the genre get some love and to find a new author.
I'm currently bookless. I just finished China Miéville's collection of fantastically weird short stories, Three Moments of an Explosion. I am looking for my next book, preferably a Canadian author.
I live in Vancouver, like to run and ride my bike when I'm not reading. I look forward to getting to know fellow group members.

Welcome Alison!! You will likely enjoy some of our Canada Reads threads as there was a lot of discussion on CT and we have a sci fi genre thread also. You will find many suggestions for your next book here!!

I'm Melissa, a new author from Nanaimo on beautiful Vancouver Island. I was born and raised in Chilliwack, settled in Vancouver for many years, lived in Calgary for 10 years, and toured across most of Canada with a sketch comedy theatre company back in the 90s. I still have to visit Newfoundland/Labrador and the territories, then I've spent time in every province. I LOVE our country, and look forward to hearing from others about great Canadian reads.

Welcome Liz!! I too have aspirations of writing but spend all my time reading! You are certainly in the right place if you like Canadian books!

I'm Canadian, an author and grew up in Toronto. My new paranormal romance series is The Jinn Cycle.
Just thrilled to find this group dedicated to Canadian writers of all genres!
I blog and love reader feedback.
Looking forward to seeing what others in this fab group are reading.

I am retired and getting into writing on a serious level using blogging as my base. I have a passion about being Canadian and recently published an ebook "Canadian? Me?" (selfish plug that you are welcome to ignore)
My most recent foray was Thomas King's non-fiction The Inconvenient Indian
Before that was Gus Vanderhaeghe's books.
What I like most about Canadian writers is that they can be quirky without being intentionally so.

As Janice, I've written an award winning Newfoundland women's fiction / contemporary romance called Then She Danced.
As JJ King, I have 2/3 of a paranormal trilogy called The Guardians (Blood of Eden and My Brother's Keeper). It comes with 2 free additional short stories called Eyes have seen and Number the stars. I'm working on book 3 (Sins of the father) now and should have it published by the end of the year.
I also write for Evernight Publishing and have 1 full length novel and 2 novellas with them. Soon to be 3 short stories.
With Canada 150 happening this summer, myself and a few other Newfoundland authors have put together a literary tour across the island. It's gotten really big and we're excited. It's called Canada 150 Literary Tour NL if you're going to be in Newfoundland this summer!
Welcome Janice - thanks for introducing yourself and I hope you enjoy discussing CanLit! A literary tour sounds like fun!!

Hi all my name is Andy, but I write under pen name A.S Chambers (Im the Canadian one). I created my own Chronicles of The Fallen series which focuses on what defines what we humans go through on a daily basis where I focus on what knocks us down throughout our lives on this wonderful planet we all share, its hard to place into words and best described as the strength it takes when life hands you a bad deal to where life suddenly stops. I find there a ton of people out there who are just "stuck" forgetting both where they have been and where or what direction they are truly traveling.
I am a Canadian fictional author of two books, my first was a test to see if I in fact had it in me to write and if I could I would re-write it even better...maybe in the future. My second I focused on the 1930's in the Chicago era and my main characters ups and downs as a police officer, I wanted to show that there is a personal history to ones own family that runs faintly along side of a worlds history and how family, love, devotion, friendship and integrity are all so very important. I wrote this with a lot of old words long forgotten and I also in editing left a few mistakes to prove that we all aren't perfect even in printed matter such as the great novels on the market now. If you should read it please let me know what you felt of the story line and my characters, like I said earlier I couldn't remember if I introduced myself or my work. Thank you for your time. Oh they have a give away I paid for for here so if it isn't up yet please keep checking and enter if you want. Well back to the grind of searching the past and creating more vivid tales. Thanks again

I feel like a true Western Canadian, having been born and raised on a Saskatchewan farm, lived and worked on both Manitoba and Alberta, and for the past twenty years I have lived in the mountain resort town of Invermere, B.C.
My first novel was set in Saskatchewan; and my second novel Wildwood, to be published in February 2018, takes place in the Peace River, Alberta area.
I'm keen about Canadian history and right now I'm obsessed with Canadian pioneer memoirs, so please feel free to make some recommendations!
I also write a monthly blog called Wartime Wednesdays. You can learn more than you ever wanted to know about me on my website: www.elinorflorence.com.
I look forward to belonging to this group!
Welcome Andy and Elinor! I think you will both find a lot of great conversation about CanLit here in this group!

@Elinor - I loved Rilla of Ingleside too, it was great to read the perspective of the families left at home during the war. I have taken a little hiatus from the blog this summer but will be back at it soon!

Welcome Elinor. Your upcoming book Wildwood sounds quite interesting. I am adding it to my TBR mountain. I hope you will enjoy this friendly group.

Also Canada rocks!
Currently reading a Canadian at this moment. Patrick de Witt's fantastic The Sisters Brothers.
Welcome Andy! We all love CanLit here so you will fit right in! The Sisters Brothers is on my TBR list too!

Thanks, Louise!

That's a good one, so clever and amusing!

My name is Arvin da Brgha. I’m a Canadian author who has recently published a dream memoir – Merlin and Arvin: A Shamanic Dream Odyssey and an accompanying Michael Overleaves appendix – A Six Volume Michael Overleaves Appendix.
These are the first books in a spiritual odyssey series, which spans past lives through dreams of myself and my late lover, Merlin, as our souls evolve. Reincarnation, past-life dreams and Michael Teachings overleaves add depth and insights to our star-crossed love story.
Being new to Goodreads, I’d love to connect with other like-minded individuals, so please feel free to add me as a friend on Goodreads, or connect with me on Facebook (@authorarvindabrgha) or through my website: www.arvindabrgha.com.

Welcome Myriam! If you are looking to read more Canadian authors you have come to the right place - your TBR pile will grow quickly!

Welcome Khelli! I am a Donna Morrissey fan too and have read all her books! She is coming to the Knowlton Literary Fest near Montreal in a couple of weeks, on the SAME DAY as Lawrence Hill at another nearby fest so I had to choose between the two. Since I have seen Donna Morrissey before and never seen Lawrence Hill, I chose the latter. Really sucks that I had to make a choice at all.
Donna Morrissey is one of the many authors who have pique my curiosity about Newfoundland and I finally lived my dream by visiting this past June. What a wonderful province, and great place to visit!

My name is Myriam and I'm from Montreal. I love reading and traveling. I can't wait to read more canadian authors !"
YAY!!! Another Montrealer (well I'm on the south shore to be exact). We are far and few between here. Welcome!

I love to read however I have had little time as of late. My preschool collection is in print as I write this!
I love myth and magic and like to believe dragons, faeries and the like were/are real!
I'm an outdoors girl and live in ON near lake Ontario with my husband and 2 fur babies!
Welcome Michelle! There are lots of busy readers here on the site so hopefully you can squeeze in some reading time as you will get a lot of great book suggestions here.
