J.J. Toner (jjtoner) As long as we're listing areas of expertise, I'm pretty knowledgeable about WW2 and pre-war Germany as well as the progress of WW2 in Europe.

J.J. Toner (jjtoner) Maybe this doesn't belong in here. I've put my expertise into the Facebook document. Please feel free to remove this thread.

Maybe authors writing fiction about WWII will reach out. Welcome!

message 4: by Geraldine (new)

Geraldine Evans (geraldineevans) | 4 comments I'm fairly knowledgeable about Henry VIII.

I also write British crime novels, so I hope I know my stuff there!

Margot Finke (margot8) | 2 comments I write for children--PB to midgrade, and I also do "Content" Edits. I am pretty knowledgeable about rhyme and meter, and I love to help authors write tight and terrific books.

Laura Baumbach | 2 comments I'm a retired emergency, trauma and ICU nurse.

Dannye | 8 comments I am knowledgeable about spiritual psychology. I am also an editor.

Elena Hartwell | 11 comments Theatre and Academia.

Tina Seward (tinamatt) | 5 comments I'm the mom of a teenager with autism, so I know my way somewhat around speech therapy and IEP meetings.

I grew up in St. Petersburg, FL, in the 1970's; anyone setting a novel in the '70's may find that expertise helpful. :-)

I'm an ex-librarian, attended court reporting school for a number of years, and currently proofread court transcripts.

I also have experience with being bullied and being part of a spiritually abusive church. Maybe that will be helpful if someone is writing a novel on those topics!

Aliya DalRae | 36 comments My husband and I refinish furniture, and I do all the weavings (cane, rush, wicker). It's random, but you never know! :)

Spent time in the 1980's with my starter husband as an Air Force wife, so some experience there.

I lost my only child in a late-term miscarriage, so I'm very knowledgeable about all that goes along with that. (and no - I'm not adverse to talking about it! I know it's a delicate subject, but if that's where your story goes, I'm open to conversation) :)

Tina Seward (tinamatt) | 5 comments Aliya, I'm so sorry for your loss!

message 12: by Aliya (new)

Aliya DalRae | 36 comments Thank you Tina. I do appreciate that. It's not an "area of expertise" I would have chosen, but if my knowledge and experience can help anyone in any way, (not just with their books) I'm glad to help. :)

S.E. Smith (sesmithfl) | 9 comments I have a wide range of knowledge, including technology. I'm a multi-listed NYT/USAT Bestselling author with experience in world building, character development, plot/storylines, and marketing. I currently had a movie production company ask me for a script of one of my YA books. I write science fiction, paranormal, time travel, contemporary, fantasy, and Urban fantasy for adults, YA, and children's fiction. I currently have over 50+ books published. I also have conducted author retreats and have presented at numerous conventions. If anyone has any questions, I'm always happy to help.

J.E. | 4 comments I spent 42 years in the classroom, as a high school teacher and as an adjunct instructor at the university level. I am fluent in Spanish, speak a small amount of Italian and I studied Arabic for a semester. My middle child, a son, was born profoundly retarded. As a result, I'm familiar with the needs, stress and profound sorrow that having such a child invokes. My husband and I are avid canoeists with a fair amount of experience in the Northwoods.

J.T. Patten (jtpattenbooks) | 5 comments I spent a good amount of time in special operations intelligence support to mil/gov with a background in counterterrorism, financial crime, intelligence gathering, and that sort of jazz. So I can't help too much on the kama sutra shirtless nekkid cowboy romance novels but if you're looking to blow something up or take down some terrorists, I may be able to help some. Oh, and I have a blog talk radio show with thriller authors who discuss writing authentic novels. It's called JT Patten Hot Wash After Action Book Report. It is for readers and writers alike. Some good tips come out of it.
