I recently discovered Inkshares, a publishing house that cleverly uses social media to promote its authors and works, and then uses pre-sales to determine which books merit their full publishing support.
The cool thing about Inkshares is that it is free to "follow" authors and to "follow" book projects in progress. Authors upload chapters of their book and followers are instantly notified that they are available for reading. Followers can then comment on the uploads, essentially becoming part of the process. Way cool!
I have discovered a slew of interesting sic-fi projects on Inkshares, and have even ventured into other genres. Inkshares hosts a good deal of writing talent.
Reading works that are in production is something new to me. Actually being able to participate in the process was totally unexpected.
I am posting this because I didn't know about it, and I figure others have not heard about Inkshares either. You might want to check it out!
