Rod Horncastle If the Westboro Baptists (are they REALLY Baptists?) gave me a personal invitation to their church what's to stop me from joining? Aren't all Fundi's the same?

Let's see where this goes. I think I read the same Bible as them.

Rod Horncastle Do I get one of those Cool Ghost hats? "WHAT?! of course they're ghost hats - what else could they be?"

Rod Horncastle First off: I doubt I would be a Baptist.

Remember when Charles Spurgeon told the Baptists to take a flying leap... Yep, He's one of my hero's. Similar to William Tyndale calmly sitting in prison awaiting the Catholic Churches death sentence for declaring their theology to be FREAKIN' RETARDED - and then spending months proving it.

So what exactly do these Westboro's believe Biblically? Do they even own a Bible? Did they notice all the bits about LOVE in there?
Why do people assume they are Fundamental embracers?

Lee Harmon (DubiousDisciple) | 2112 comments Rod, the beef that every reasonable human being has with Westboro Baptist Church is not so much their doctrine as the despicable anti-Christian in-your-face way they practice it. so I really hope you do not look to them as an example in ANY way.

Rod Horncastle Hell no. They are clueless imbeciles.

I'm more interested in their imbecile scale: from 1 to a 100.
Lets say they are 78% imbecile --- what is the other 22% made up of: theological truth? I seriously doubt it.

Just for info:
I've watched a few documentaries of these buffoons. One was even made by them.

Rod Horncastle The core problem is:
They are attacking the mission field - Basic Gay people who are not necessarily in the church.

I do the opposite - I attack those who are corrupting or abusing the church and salvation. Basically the book of 2nd Peter.

2 Peter 2:
1But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. 2And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. 3And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.

15And count the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you according to the wisdom given him, 16as he does in all his letters when he speaks in them of these matters. There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures. 17You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, take care that you are not carried away with the error of lawless people and lose your own stability.

But we love our enemies - and hate their FReaKin' Mental ideas.
