Order to read the series?

I'm really confused about what order to read the books and novellas in. The main series number of 1-5 are helpful, but my friend said the novellas contain some spoilers if you don't read the novels? I don't want that to happen, so I'm looking for a concrete plan of action for tackling this series.

I think the best order to avoid major spoilers would be in this order.
The Queen
The Selection
The Prince
The Elite
The Guard
The One
The Favorite
The Epilogue
The Heir
The Crown

I read them in this order and thought it worked pretty good.

The Selection
The Elite
The Prince
The Guard
The One

I haven't read the other ones yet so I'm not sure if they contain spoilers or not.

I don't read the novellas. Those are just other perspectives. If you want to, do it after the series is complete. That's what I'd do.
