GR synopsis: The stunning superhero-noir fantasy thriller set in the other New York.
It was the last great science hero fight, but the energy blast ripped a hole in reality, and birthed the Empire State – a young, twisted parallel prohibition-era New York.
When the rift starts to close, both worlds are threatened, and both must fight for the right to exist.
I am reading this for my 2016 reading challenge, week 21, from the GR recommendation page. I didn't really look to hard at the description when I picked this book, I was pretty hooked just by the cover. I will be start this tonight, and am really looking forward to this.
This was kind of disappointing. The synopsis was right up my road, so I should have loved it, or at least liked it, heck, even tolerated it. This almost became a DNF, but I forced myself to finish it. This felt like some Dick Tracy knock-off fan-fiction and it was very difficult to take anything about it seriously. I really do enjoy the cover art, and Christopher has a decent writing style, the story just wasn't the greatest.
