I will start.
I found I have duplicate copies of
This is Where I Leave You by Jonathan Tropper.
I am offering the paperback. It is in good shape, but I did buy it at a thrift store (I am picky about what I buy 2nd hand.)
First come, first serve.

Hannah, it is yours. Since I'm in Phoenix and the book is back in Ohio (home), I will not be able to mail it until Wednesday. I will message you to get your address when I get back home.

I agree ARCs are fine since we are not asking for money. Please make sure that it is an ARC. Some people may not want those.
I've had ARCs two times to sign. The first author signed AND corrected / made the changes in the book for me. The other author signed the book under a note that there were 3000 changes in the printed book compared to the ARC.

After offering a book this morning it occurred to me that I would need the mailing address of the person requesting. This prompted me to change my settings to allow anyone to message me on GR. Does anyone have any thoughts on the best way for giver and recipient to contact each other?

Dianne wrote: "I think even if you have not friended a person they are able to push your name and then send message which is private."
Thanks Dianne. I'll leave it for the moment but if I get too many unwanted messages I'll change the setting again. That's easy enough to do.

Carol, I sent a message through GoodReads to my requester (who is not a "friend"). This way the address will stay confidential between the person getting the book and me.

Thanks Linda...that's a good idea. May not make any difference as no takers yet but I do have other books to offer. Next week maybe.

I'm all for Mary Roach, Tina, and that is one that I have not read. My husband would enjoy it, too.

The sender may post a book to offer to whomever wants it. First person to request it, should get it. The sender pays the postage.
I/we are hoping this will be equitable (i.e. not the same person always requests, multiple people will offer, etc.) Some may want to send several books at once in which case, the poster expects one person to take all of the books.
I'm not sure what else needs to be said. I have sent occasional books to different people in this group when I have seen that someone is interested (i.e. has the book on their TBR). I have not had issues doing that on my own.
This is meant as a friendly sharing, although we have Ann Kingman's go ahead on this project, again, this is a bunch of friendly people who are trying to "share the wealth" of their book riches and actually has nothing to do with Books on the Nightstand except that is how we originally "met" each other.
Be nice, and accurate in describing the condition of the book. (Let's not send books with no covers, falling apart, etc.)
The people involved in the swap need to work out conflicts between themselves.
This is meant to be helpful and fun. NOT a chore for anyone.
