message 7: by Emily (new)

Emily | 440 comments I read a lot more ups-and-downs-of-being-an-immigrant books than books where the character is "traveling" in the classical sense, so here are some of my favorites: The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie Home Leave by Brittani Sonnenberg

Rugby: Hookers, Flankers and Locks by Jean Roller Winger (Winger, #1) by Andrew Smith

I love eating locally grown produce and animal products whenever we can. We grow a small amount of herbs and fruit trees on our property too. Local and fresh tastes so much better, and is much more fun to cook with.

Jen (reader44ever) | 2930 comments This is sort of tough, but I'll give it a shot!

Let's see . . .

International Travelling: Stars of Fortune (The Guardians Trilogy, #1) by Nora Roberts Stars of Fortune by Nora Roberts, in which our female MC leaves her home in the United States to go to Greece. And I think she and the friends she made there are heading to Italy next! I've always wanted to go to these places. :-)

Dogs: Hounded (The Iron Druid Chronicles, #1) by Kevin Hearne Hounded by Kevin Hearne, because I love dogs and Oberon, Atticus's dog in this book/series, is one of my most favorite fictional dogs. :-)

And for the bonus coin: I hope An Apple for the Creature is green enough! It's an anthology edited by Charlaine Harris and Toni L.P. Kelner. I chose this book because: #1) I really enjoy it; #2) It's good for me to read because of my disabilities. It's hard to become so distracted you lose your place when you're reading an anthology of short stories; and #3) It has a few of my hobbies in it: crafting, dogs, travel, and more! :-)
An Apple for the Creature (Kate Daniels, #5.3) by Charlaine Harris
