Once again we have a focus on a different mythology. In this case, it is Hindu myth. Did this contribute to the overall story or does it feel more like an information dump?

We learn many new things about Saimon in this book. What did you think of his character in the beginning of Magic Strikes? Did your opinion of him change throughout the book? If so, when and why?

The Midnight Games, a gladiator style tournament, plays a significant role in the story. What did you think of the concept of the games and the fact that Kate had participated in something similar as a child?

More information is revealed about Kate's adopted father, Voran. What did you think of him and his relationship with Kate?

Kate and Derrick still seem to share a connection even though there is no longer a blood bond between them. What did you think of Kate's reaction to Derrick's various "issues" in the story?
