E.A. Briginshaw | 81 comments I was pleased last October when Amazon announced that paperback versions of books released through Createspace would be available on Amazon.ca. Previously, only the Kindle versions of books were available on Amazon.ca and customers could only get the paperback versions through the main Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk websites. Unfortunately, the costs to ship the paperbacks from the US to Canada usually exceeded the cost of the book.

I just released a new book and thought I would take advantage of this new capability. I ordered two copies of my book to ship to my family and since the cost of the book exceeded $25, it qualified for free shipping. Several days later, the books still hadn't shipped so I contacted Createspace who just referred me to Amazon.ca support. Their first response was that they were having trouble getting the book from their supplier. When I pointed out that Amazon/Createspace was the supplier, they said they would investigate. I received an email a couple of days later asking that they give me two business days to resolve the issue. I waited, but two days later I received another email asking that I wait three more business days.

Today, I figured I'd given them enough time so I cancelled my order and just ordered a batch of books through Createspace. I'm now back to my old method of ordering batches of books myself and then mailing them to my Canadian customers.

I have delayed the announcements of my new book because I don't want customers to see "not in stock" when they visit the website.

Is anyone else having this problem? Amazon has never explained what the problem is. They just keep saying they are investigating the issue.

Melissa Jensen (kdragon) | 469 comments Yeah, there seems to be something going on with Amazon.ca. I received an email from them telling me to check my bank info because the sales I was getting from Amazon.ca wasn't getting to my bank, but my bank info was fine (I know others had this problem as well). I contacted them and was also told they were looking into it. I'm thinking it's some kind of glitch they're having trouble resolving.
