Missy Sheldrake (missysheldrake) | 252 comments Okay, so here's my scenario. I have Scrivener, which I love, on an HP notebook. The HP notebook (which I love) only has 24 gigs of storage. I bought it for $150 brand new last year when my son spilled water on my Sony Vaio and killed the keyboard. I do all of my writing on the HP, and all of my art stuff and graphic design on the Vaio (w/USB keyboard), which has 256g of storage. I also have a microSD card in the HP with plenty of empty space, and an external wireless drive with 2tb of space.

My problem is, with windows and Scrivener, Office, and Chrome installed, my notebook only has about 500mb left on it.

I recently bought an iPad Pro for my illustrations. I would like to be able to toss it in my backpack with access to my scrivener file and go out and write or draw on a whim. I have tried to use remote access apps that would allow me to connect with my scrivener laptop at home, but all of them require me to install software to my HP notebook that I simply don't have the space for.

Right now, what I usually do is paste my most recent couple of chapters into a word doc, upload that into the cloud, write in it, then when I get home I paste it from the word doc into Scrivener. It works, but it's not very streamlined.

Recently, I've been pining after a macbook. I feel like this would be the solution to my syncing issues. Right now, I have too many devices for too many things and I want to simplify. I like how lightweight my notebook is, and I'd like to be able to just switch over to one laptop for writing and graphic work. But I don't have $1k to drop on a macbook.

My question to you is, do you see a solution here that I don't see? Any suggestions? Should I switch to apple across the board? Stick with windows? Please help me decide!

I just ordered a Lenovo ThinkPad. I can't afford a Mac yet, but I see one in my future. I feel you, you're doing right by getting everything on one device

Missy Sheldrake (missysheldrake) | 252 comments I'm leaning toward a Lenovo z70 or a macbook. Macbooks are just so expensive...
