The course can be uploaded at http://folk.uib.no/hnohf/qcourse.htm. This thread is for discussing the contents of this course and its potential lack of information, or anything you didn't quite grasp. Rules on grammar and other things on the language itself are discussed elsewhere.

I've done the first three lessons of this course. The lessons consist of an explanation on the topic, and exercises after it. Starting from the second lesson there is a list of vocabulary words, 12 for each lesson. I was thinking that I could add all those words somewhere to the group... And now when I think of it, I've got an idea!

What do you think if we'd start the course together sometime, decide on dates when we'll be done on a certain lesson, and then discuss it here. Would that work? It'd be like the reading groups, when they choose a book and review it together. What do you think? We just need more members here...

I think that's a great idea & applicable once there are more members. Perhaps one lesson every month? Although we've started with the course already, there are always things we forget about, and putting knowledge into practice definitely helps remembering things.

Almárë (meneldilme) | 13 comments It's worth noting that the course is quite out of date. Thorsten Renk's course Quetin i Lambe Eldaiva is more recent, but still there is still more new information from the more recent Parma Eldalamberon issues that is not there.

Thanks for the info! Do you know the differences in these courses, like is it more about that it lacks something or that it contains false information?

Nice! Then we're doing that once we have a plan.

There's a lot more information that has been published since it was written... so it's a little of both. It's still very useful, since HF's course explains thoroughly when things are assumptions or guesses based on incomplete information. Quetin i Lambë Eldaiva is a lot more "novice friendly" in it's approach, but doesn't have the same level of detail about how certain points are known. IMO it's highly beneficial to go through both courses in parallel.

Okay, that would be good. I've only used the one on Ardalambion. I'll take a look and see how the parallel would suit a group learning.
