Alien in Chief is the 12th book in the Kitty Katt series. Still full of humour, high powered action, explosions, gorgeous aliens, prison escapes, deaths and cute kids & pets. Not to mention visiting aliens of the Planetary Council.
The Mastermind, Cliff, is still hanging around doing the schmuze and our good buddies still haven't got enough to convict him. That doesn't stop him from escalating the action and it slowly dawns on Kitty that Cliff knows that he has been unmasked. That just makes him more dangerous.
The President, Jeff Martini the VP & Kitty's husband, and their entourages board Rail Force One & Two to head down to NASA Base in Florida to meet the Planetary Council and as usual there are 3 plots afoot to stop them getting there. Club 51, Invisible Commandos & the hybrids which Kitty calls the Crazy Eights. Just picture every train action movie, especially using the roof, and you've got a good idea of what's ahead, the only thing missing is the horse.
This book is complete but sets us up for the next one

It was scary, terrifying, sad. It was alot of things. I hated the military in this damn story. No one wanted Brady to win except for Doc who I loved. Brady Garrett gets conscripted at the age of 16(If I ever had children and this ruled applied, we're AWOL no way am I allowing my child to fight in anyone's war unless he's able to make that decision as an ADULT) to be sent into The Big Black, just from his description of everything I was getting scared. 3 years later and he's doing okay. Of course L.H had to through in something painful for to happen to the MC, what happens some douchebag who should have gotten released into space, took advantage of Brady in the most despicable way. Well Brady gets called to the Med Bay to help doc, he has no clue as to why because he thinks he's a lowly intern. Wrong answer Brady. He gets in a room with Doc plus 4 other superior assholes and a freaking pod with some milky substance and inside the mod is none other than Cameron Rushton! Cameron Rushton was a hawk pilot on the Defender Eight who's shipped was ambushed by The Faceless (<-- scary ass alien people) and everyone was killed except him. Well 4 years later he showed up on the Defender Three and Brady had the lucky chance of being his electric/heart guide. It was really weird. Can't give much away far as plot, but they connect in a big way. Physically, emotionally and mentally. Then Cam drops the bomb that the Faceless will return quicker than they thought and they don't know why, but Cam does. Alot happens. I'm still terrified and 80% is where I started drinking. It was worth it. I can't wait for book 2 hopefully it's less scary than the first but if it's not, I still have that bottle of Johnny Walker available.

Now I gave book two to read. I've had it since the release day and was to scared to read it. It's next up. I need to read some fluff first.
Lol.

I would like to have one of the mc to open up more. I wanted more communication as well. But overall it's a great story.

Slightly hesitant to start book two though. Lol.

Usually when you do start, its all good and you can't understand why you hesitated. Still .... doesn't stop me doing that same thing again and again.

I do it alot. Then once you start reading it's like this weight has dropped off your shoulder and you can breathe.

Sometimes your expectations are unrealistic but that is because the first book was just so awesomesauce.

I've had to tell myself constantly not to have your hopes up so high. It's so many fantastic firat book in a series, and I just have all these expectations on where the author will take them, and then it's a complete let down.
I hate it. I get so mad. Now as we are speaking I'm just going to roll with the punches because it's not worth it.
I have entire last of authors I won't read anymore because of this. I won't pick another book by them.

I usually only get rid of authors if I hate their writing style or they are crap. LOL.
One of my favourite series had a book, I think it was #9, that I really, really had probs with, but I stuck with it and am eagerly awaiting #13. Doesn't mean I forget what happened and it does make me more insecure but it need to just let it go.
Sounds like you really need to roll with the punches :)

Review:
This was a fresh take on a YA paranormal story. It encompasses all my favorite fantasy elements, while nicely staying away from the dreaded love triangle.
I liked the way Evie's character progressed. She was a bit self-centered in the beginning. But that is quite understandable with the way she was raised. I liked that she owned up to her mistakes. But I think that the people around her forgave/accepted her faster than is realistic.

I don't do many reviews either. And if I do its usually just so I remember which book is which.

Thanks. I added it. Just finished it this evening. :)

Saying that, on the list is the book I've been waiting 3.5 yrs for, just came out last wk.

Okay so I've had this book for a long time. Thank Bingo that I decided to read it. I don't usually read UF. I feel like I need more romance in my stories, and this wasn't different. It was no on page sex, and trust me I side eyed the people I know who read this. I will say it was good enough for me to read the entire book. I liked Roan and Paris as characters. I like that they were already established as a couple, and loved seeing them work together. I actually enjoy the fantasy aspect with the cat virus. Roan being an disgruntled P.I. routine. Of course, I like Roan, broody assholes are my kind of guys. I liked Paris alot more. It was super light to Roan mean persona almost. I found myself laughing at Roan's descriptions of everyone from man purse Eli to cute femme Matt. I'm going to continue on with the series.

This final book in the Agent of Hel series was full of action & intrigue. Daisy is the Liaison of the Goddess Hel, whose demense is below Daisy's town. Daisy is a half Hellspawn demon but who was raised by her human mother.
I knocked off a star because of the love triangle. We have Cody, werewolf who couldn't bring himself to go against his clan and be with Daisy, though he really wanted to. Our next candidate is Stefan, the Ghoul Outcast, who couldn't die, who wanted Daisy also. Daisy has loved Cody since they were in grade school together but is sick of the "I want you but I can't have you trope". As are all the readers after 3 books, I'm sure.
Daisy has lots going on aside from the guys. She has to remove a Night Hag who is preying on the town, and then there is the mysterious Daniel Dufreyne, hellspawn lawyer who is buying up large parcels of land. There is then a lawsuit against the town also by Daniel and his unknown employer.
Which leads to a big freaking War, with Daisy right in the middle. (view spoiler) Her worst fear is Armageddon caused by her invoking her birthright. This has been a recurring theme throughout the series.
The War was well done and all the little odds & ends were taken care of, but it just felt a little unsatisfying there at the end. Overall I enjoyed the series.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

I loved meeting Fabian in this story. One reason why I enjoy this series so much is because of Bones. He's not a pushover line we see in so many men in books. He stuck to his guns. Cat was my least favorite, she does the opposite of what Bones says. You would think he's smart enough to know what he's talking about. I'm patiently waiting for Ian's book. He's amazing.
