So true to form I've started reading something completely different.

Nikhil is the first book of the Kaliszians series, however, it also ties in with the Tornian series.

Mackenzie Wharton is an expert guide on her wilderness mountain and is leading a group of people when they are all kidnapped by aliens called Ganglians (these are baddies), then they are onsold to Zaludians (more baddies) to work as slave labour in the mines on Pontos.

The humans and other alien slaves are rescued by the Kaliszians (the perfunctory goodies). Squad Leader Nikhil of the Elite Warriors spies a badly damaged female and rushes her to medical. He can't understand why he has to stay near her. Mac on the other hand finally feels safe. The bead in her hair proclaims her a True Mate. The first in 500 years.

Thus begins a tale of misunderstandings, of cultural differences, of traitorous betrayal and Goddess intervention.

Really looking forward to the 2nd book.

Review:
I don't really know what to say about this book. It was incredible. And it sucked. I know that not every story has a (view spoiler)[HEA, but I really wanted it to work out for Sadie and Jack. I just wanted them to be together, when they were both young. Not when Jack is late 30s and Sadie is 80. (hide spoiler)] It was bittersweet.

The historical information about Kennedy and the late 50s/early 60s time period was so good. I think I really have a feel for the time period now.

This was my first Stephen King novel. It probably won't be my last, although I'll steer clear of anything horror-related.

Judithe has always held our whip, right back to Rnd 1. LOL.

Us ninja mods usually get around without having to use it, but occasionally it has been cracked :)

Review:

I rarely find PNR that's new to me that I like. I'm so finicky and certain authors have spoiled me so I stick to re-reads of my favorite series. For years I've been seeing this book on pnr lovers shelves. I wasn't sure of reading it, I tried the Guild Series first book a few months ago and it was okay. Only one character made the book amazing and that was Ilium and found out he doesnt have a book yet. Reading the beginning of this one I was so confused, it wasn't gelling with me, I got tired of the beating around the bush. I wanted action, and it quickly picked up. I do like the Changeling and Psy qualities to each species. I liked Sascha as a heroine she was steadfast and a good companion to Lucas. I loved Lucas, until I met all the broody ass***** who seemed so much more interesting. Umm Clay and Hawke are definitely going to get read. I did enjoy it and look forward to book two.

Book #3 is an absolute standout.

I'm looking forward to more of the series!!!

I had an excellent weekend, starting on Friday. One of my nieces graduated from Uni with a double degree in Communications & International Studies. Then we all went to dinner in the revolving restaurant above Sydney. Saturday was out to dinner again for BFF's, since kindergarten, birthday. Two nights in a row I didn't have to cook - that's a definite win.

Definitely been enjoying my books. I've read some really good ones for this! I'm going to be starting Tinker today. It's a re-read for me, so I know I'll enjoy it.

I love re-reading books I enjoyed. So comforting knowing you won't be disappointed.

It had been awhile since I read the 1st book in this series but after a little bit things started to come back. Wow talk about a snafu - there was a lot going on in this book definitely worth the read hard to follow sometimes. I enjoyed it & look forward to reading the next one soon.
I love Joanna & David - they are truly one with each other but sometimes I wonder if that is because the Djinn...

Review: This is a re-read for me. I think it's my 3rd time through. I loved it just as much this time as I did before. I love the blending of the fantasy and science fiction. I enjoy the romance between Tinker and Windwolf. I love Wen's sense of humor!

You have got to be kidding me. I went through 34 pages of the first list, to find Finger Lickin' Fifteen all the way at the end. It's the 2nd book on the new list. That figures! :)

Rather than Finger Lickin' Fifteen, which I may not get to until after next week, I found on the Hunters shelf. I already have plans to read that one this week, so I'll go with that.

This was the 2nd book in the Graceling trilogy & wow - a lot of stuff was going on in this book between Fire &Archer & Fire & Brigan...it was hard to tell sometimes who was coming & going. I loved the story but honestly there were times that it got a little confusing as to who belonged where. Fire was such a strong person & thru every trial she seemed to draw from an inner strength. Definitely want to the read the last book soon.

The futuristic Harmony world is made up of humans who came through a "curtain" in space 2 hundred yrs ago. Once there the "curtain" closed and they found that a lot of their artifacts no longer worked. However, they started to develop psychic powers that were enhanced by using tuned amber.

Celinda Ingram is a matchmaker, which is a very important role as once you're married there is no divorce, because Society needed the stability after the 'curtain' closed. Davis Oakes is a PI, working for Mercer Wyatt, head of the Cadence City Ghost Hunter Guild. Think mob boss that has gone straight.

Celinda bought a relic from an antique store that looks like red plastic, for her dust bunny Araminta. It had been stolen from the Guild, and Davis is sent to track it down. Davis also has a dust bunny named Max.

The dust bunnies are not really pets, they lead independent lives and are fantastic. Loyal, eccentric and able to go from grey fluff ball with blue eyes to sleeked out 6 legged predator with sharp teeth in an instant.

As always in a JAK novel there are several plots happening at once, lots of action, kidnappings and weddings and dust bunny eating.

I recommend that anyone wanting to read these books that they start at the beginning just so they don't miss any of the fun.
