Jonel Welcome to our week long read-a-thon. That's right, at Hooked on Books we've decided that there aren't enough hours in a day, or days in a week, so our week long read-a-thons run for 8 days! Each participant reads from 12:01am on Saturday to 11:59pm on the following Saturday in their local time zone.

To sign up simply start yourself a post to track what you've read during the read-a-thon. Edit your post throughout the read-a-thon to let everyone know which books you've read & your total number of pages. Feel free to copy my post as a template.

Journey to Munich (Maisie Dobbs, #12) by Jacqueline Winspear Rivers of London (Peter Grant, #1) by Ben Aaronovitch

Books read:
Un Lun Dun by China Miéville, pp 1-422
Journey to Munich by Jacqueline Winspear, pp 67-308, completed
Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovich, pp 1-310, completed

Notes:
2 April - Reading on Kindle. Started at location 920 of 4244 in Journey to Munich , approximately page 67. At end of day, I was at location 3807, roughly page 277, so recording 210 pages for the day.

3 April - Finished reading the last 32 pages of Journey to Munich and started reading Un Lun Dun , also on Kindle, completing the first 17 chapters which was 82 pages. In the evening, I read 32 pages of Rivers of London , and then browsing online, I read 57 pages in the sample of Time Travelling with a Hamster by Ross Welford, for a grand total of 203 pages read today.

4 April - Returned to work today, so had to read during free time. Most of that reading was on my phone, so I read 65 pages of Rivers of London . On the Kindle, I read 26 pages of Un Lun Dun , for a total of 91 pages.

5 April - Busy day at work and I even worked late. Only managed 62 pages, all in Rivers of London . The only way I managed to read that many was by reading during breakfast and supper.

6 April - Number of pages per day keeps going down. Only found time to read 31 pages of Rivers of London .

7 April - Got a bit more read on Thursday. Finished 50 more pages of Rivers of London , leaving me with 70 pages to complete the book.

8 April - Finished reading Rivers of London , so no longer reading on my phone. Returned to Un Lun Dun on the Kindle. Total of 75 pages read for the day. Grand total of 722 so far. On the 9th, I'll be flying from London to Dallas, so with the time change, I get 6 extra hours to read. Should finish Un Lun Dun , and don't know what I'll start next, but I have lots of books on the Kindle to choose from.

9 April - Flew from London to Dallas, and read for large portions of the flight, but I also dozed off several times. Due to the time change, I went to bed early. I didn't finish reading Un Lun Dun -- at midnight Dallas time, I had about 50 pages remaining. 309 pages read, giving a total of 1031 for the read-a-thon.

Yip. I agree. But it all depends on the narrator. A Bad narrator ruins the whole book!
