Hi from a new Goodreads Author, who can't figure out why his profile page says he has "0 distinct works" and has written no books. Still, my novel is shown in the profile section headed "B.J. SMITH'S BOOKS."

I'm not able to figure out how to indicate a number of distinct works or change this - https://www.goodreads.com/author/list... - to show that I actually have written a book. Also want to add another book once I figure this out. Help anybody?

I see the same "0 works ..." you are seeing if that's any help.

Possibly some caching issue that staff can reset for you when they come on this thread.

In the meantime, you could go ahead and add your other book. Not impossible that would force your statistics to recalculate.

B.J., it's because of those "excess" spaces you removed from your name on 2 of the editions' edit pages. The extra spaces between your first and last names only shows up on book edit pages and your profile edit page, but it tells the system which books are yours. When adding a book manually, be sure to include the extra spaces, and the book will go where it belongs -- and your profile will show up with the correct number of works.

I also reverted a couple other edits that were contrary to Goodreads policy. We never edit a valid edition to make it a different one. we always add a new edition instead.

Mine is showing 1 for you. It sometimes takes the servers a while to catch up.

Same here. I can't figure out how to set my authored books.
