Krissy (krissystewart) | 3693 comments Yay! Thanks everybody! Look at my squishy little picture. Lol.

01. 1. What country/state do you currently live in?
I live in the U.S.A and currently reside in The Lone Star state (Texas). Where you'll find the Space Center, the Alamo, the Dallas Cowboys, and crazy high taxes.

02. What book are you reading right now?
Right now I am currently reading 4 books:
Finally Found (for SSS)
Dying to Read (for a personal challenge where I read a bunch of books recommended to me by members on Cafemom)
Captive Prince: Volume Two (for the BR but I'm behind. I should have finished this book ages ago. Sorry Ezi :/)
Kristy's Great Idea (I'm reading this to my 6 year old daughter and it's bringing back some great memories!)

03. What was the last book you read?
Yesterday I finished The Witness which was fantastic! And Sinner, Savior which was crazy hot. Avril Ashton knows how to write some sex scenes!

04. What is your favorite genre or series of books?
I always love a good romance. Especially MM. But I also love
a really good thriller or horror book. It's hard to pick just
one series but a few of my favorites are HP (of course),
Whyborne & Griffin, Killer Instincts, IAD, and you can see the rest Here

05. Besides reading, what are your hobbies?
Honestly I really don't have any hobbies. I get bored very easily and nothing really holds my attention very long. I've tried it all. Phototgraphy, writing, puzzles, online games, etc.

06. What is your favorite holiday?
I hate to be cliche but I guess I'll say Christmas. Even though
we have so much going on that month. My middle child's birthday, my birthday, my anniversary, FIL birthday, and then Christmas. My husband and I haven't exchanged gifts since we had our first child. We've always made it all about the kids. That's what makes it my favorite holiday. Being able to spoil my kids a bit and making them happy.

07. What is your favorite activity that isn’t a hobby and doesn’t involve books?
I love having family fun days. Taking the day to go to the zoo, museums, aquariums, playgrounds, movies, etc. I also love cooking large meals for my family. But I real suck at baking so I've stopped even attempting that. If you want a nice big meal then I'm your girl. If you want a cake... look elsewhere.

08. What is your favorite movie and/or song?
I don't have just one. If we are talking movies of course I like
the staple classics Dirty Dancing and Grease. I also love the Anne of Green Gables movies. And anything really easy and fun. Some movies I can watch over and over and never get tired of are Mean Girls, Tombstone, Pitch Perfect, 13 Going on 30, Never Been Kissed, Just Friends, Sweet Home Alabama... If we are talking music then I have to say I'm still a huge fan of 90s music. Especially the 90s alternative rock. Otherwise I tend to
love whatever is popular at the time. The only band that I tend to like anything they put out is Fall Out Boy. Love their stuff. Even though Pete Wentz is a douche.

09. What challenge or type of challenge is your favorite to participate in?
I love the team challenges. I participate in as many of those as I can get away with. I used to participate in a lot more individual challenges but this year I decided to concentrate more on the team challenges. I especially like the super series challenge in this group. It's always nice to be able to catch up on all the series you start but never finish.

10. Name a country you would like to visit, and why.
I'd love to visit Italy. Most especially Rome. The historical aspects of the city fascinates me and the Colosseum would be the first place I'd visit. But then again I'd love to visit Scotland too. It would be so hard to choose just one country.

11. What was the first book that you remember reading/being read?
I remember my very first full length novel like it was yesterday. This is a whole thing so bear with me...

I was raised by my grandmother. She used to work at a doctor's office in Kansas City, Mo about 45 minutes from where we lived. She worked on Saturdays for extra money. I used to go with her every saturday morning and just hang out while she worked. Well
on the long car rides she would listen to book on tapes while I listened to NKOTB on my walkman. One Saturday (when I was 8 years old) I didn't have my walkman for one reason or another can't remember and so I was stuck listening to my grandmother's book on tape. It happened to be Flowers in the Attic.

I became so engrossed in the story that I HAD to listen to it from start to finish (I only caught a little of the middle during the ride). Soon after that my grandmother started leaving me at home on the Saturdays she went to work. We lived on a farm in the
middle of nowhere and of course times were different back then. Well one morning while home alone I dragged out grandma's bag of book on tapes and dug through until I found Flowers in the Attic. I spent that entire day listening to that book. It was the best thing that ever happened to me. I've been obsessed with reading ever since.

12. What is your dream job?
Honestly, I would love some simple mundane office job that keeps me in an office and out of the public. I'm not a real big people person due to social anxiety. So if I had some job that kept me shut away in an office and kept me busy and supplied me with endless amounts of coffee I would be one happy woman.

13. What is the furthest place you have traveled to?
I have never been outside of the U.S. The states I have lived and/or visited have been Missouri, Michigan, South Carolina, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Alabama, and Texas

14. What was the last book you recommended to someone?
The last book I recommended somebody was Geek Love. Don't let that title fool you. This book does not contain nerds or romance. Geeks in this instance is referring to carny freaks. This book is bizarre, crude, creepy, dark, and borderline offensive. It's one of those wtf am I reading??? type of books. But so very good! So if you enjoy that type of book then I would highly recommend Geek Love.

15. If you could bring a fictional character to life, who would it be?
Mary Poppins. Now come take my kids and clean my house, ho.

16. If you were given $20 to spend in a bookstore, what would you buy?
Sadly, I'd probably spend it on my oldest daughter. I don't buy physical books for myself very often anymore. It's all about the ebook and audiobook for me. But my oldest still loves reading the physical books. Right now she is way into anything by Rick Riordan, Cassandra Clare, and Sarah J. Maas

17. If you could time travel, would you go to the past or the future?
Definitely the past. The past is way more fascinating to me than the future.

18. What is your favorite dessert?
Lemon Meringue Pie...mmm. I could eat an entire pie all by myself. I can't get enough of it! Well, damn. Now I want some :/

19. What was the last book that made you laugh?
If we are talking laugh so hard I pee myself funny then I'd say The Lightning-Struck Heart. Gary the gay unicorn is the best. I can't wait for the sequel!

20. What's your preferred method of reading?
Right now I am all about the audiobook. I listen when I cook, clean, run errands, sit in the pick up line at the school, grocery shopping... It's just really convenient.

BONUS: Tell us three things about yourself not already mentioned here.
01: I am a military wife. I've been with my husband for 17 years. He's been in the army for over almost 16 of those years. It hasn't always been easy but 6 deployments later we are still going strong!

02: I am addicted to Pinterest. I have almost 10,000 followers. My favorite things to pin are books (of course), funnies, and recipes. And of course I'll take this opportunity to whore out my account My Pinterest

03: I used to love sports. In high school I played tennis and volleyball. I was always active and on the go and I loved every second of it. Ahh.. I miss those days!
