Started last night!

Just started on audio and so far it reminds me of starring Juliette from ...

I finished reading and I really liked it! The ending was freaky!! Can't wait for the next book!

Once I get done with one of those at least, I'm going to read

Also going to start my reread of soon!

Reading Champion right now and will probably be done with it by tomorrow night. Seriously gobbling it up right now and can't put it down, except for today since it's Mother's Day. And I just got The Crown in the mail so once I finish Champion I'm going to delve into that plus re-read Death of a Salesman for teaching.

Oh and Happy Mother's Day to all the moms who may be on here talking books! And to David's wife!

Finally finished Miss Peregrine's, very disappointed... Now onto The Affairs of Nathaniel P. which I hope is a lighter read :)

I just finished A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas. Talk about a freakin hurricane of feels and emotions! ACOTAR can't hold a flame to how impeccable this book is IMHO.

And it's safe to say that I'm pretty sure I'm going to just go ahead and reread this now. I'm already craving it and I only just finished it.

I totally agree! I was kind of worried ACOMAF would disappoint me but it totally and completely exceeded my expectations. I beyond adored it. I gave in and bought a hard copy yesterday (I originally read it on my Kindle.) & am trying to resist rereading it already.

I did start which is about as far from ACOMAF you can get. It's good but I am suffering book ADD where I get a 100 pages in and then can no longer focus.

@Heather - I'm glad it wasn't just me. Because in the beginning of ACOMAF I was like "... I don't know how to feel about this" and that quickly turned into "I CANT STOP FEELING ALL THE EMOTIONS WHATS GOING ON" It really swept me away.

Haha I actually felt exactly the same way!! I was like okay... (view spoiler)[I thought we were going to see Rhysand at some point? And Feyre is so miserable this is not fun. (hide spoiler)] But then it progressed and got SO MUCH BETTER.

It was actually much better than I thought it would be! I was just going to read it for kicks really, but I ended up pretty invested in the story (and it was great to see some of the old PJO/HoO characters again). :)

Thanks SO MUCH!!! Adele had a great first Mother's Day, and I enjoyed the day too. The best present for Adele was taking Beau in the ocean for the third time, and this time he liked it! (the other two times he screamed the whole time). SO CUTE

Just finished Reamde, my first doorstop sized effort in quite a while. Stephenson is a genius. But he's also literally all over the place... so good, but frustrating.

In a complete shifting of gears: Was curious about that Emery Lord y'all are doing as your monthly read for May, but I candidly balk at paying that much for an ebook, so I've passed. But was able to get both Open Road Summer and The Start of Me and You out of my local library's Overdrive site. Will be starting in on one of them tonight.

Finished Champion and decided to start reading one of the galleys that I got at YALLWest called The Reader, so The Crown is going on the back burner for now. And also re-reading Death of a Salesman, which is not one of my favorites, but I have to teach it.

As always, great review, Daniel! And quite helpful in making my decision to leave it as a DNF for me. Though I'm glad it got better, the predictability and "contrived" world building as you call it (which I completely agree with) make me certain I don't want to spend my limited reading time on this particular book.

I seem to be having a book (series) hangover! I finished The Raven King late last night and just can't seem to pick up anything else right now. I just keep staring at my massive TBR pile and nothing has hit me yet. I hope I'll be ready tomorrow. ;)

I finished and while I liked it, it had a few issues that bugged me a bit. But I did enjoy the story, especially the fantasy/mythology elements.

Also finished and ended up loving it! The last half of that book was INSANE...well, actually, it all was, but it got even more so by the end!

Also read last night, and really enjoyed this short novella. Going to read the other 2 before I read , which I got from the library yay!

Omg I know the feeling. I had a major book hangover after finishing TRK! I had that feeling of like "omg nothing will ever be that good again." :P

I just started Talon. 10 pages in and liking it so far.

Since I posted last, I've finnished reading Darian's War. I've also read Pathfinder Legends - Mummy's Mask, Chapter 5: The Slave Trenches of Hakotep, Remnants, Empress Wu Zetian, Charioteer of Buddha, and Room 42.

Now I'm reading The Raven Boys.

Hope you enjoy The Raven Boys, Victoria! It's one of my absolute favorites––if that wasn't obvious already, haha.

I'm currently reading "the captive slave" :D loving it so far. Totally not for kids though! I've been reading lots of middle grade & young adult books lately, so I wasn't totally ready for just how messed up it is. It's great anyway though.

I noticed, Brigid. ;)

A lot of people I know seem to have really loved it, so I'm hoping it will be the same for me. Right now I'm not far enough in to be able to say one way or the other though, since I've barely started it.

Haha that's understandable. It's also a little confusing at first, but things start to fall into place as it goes along. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on it!

Yes! I totally agree with what Brigid said. There'll be a "holy cow" moment later (maybe several), and I can't wait till you get there!

It was ... hair-raising. Jeez. Seriously it was one of the most intense and terrifying things I've ever read. But also it was so inspiring and hopeful. I loved it. I'm so glad I finally got around to finishing this series. Neal Shusterman's books always just blow me away. How does he do it??

Now I'm about to start:



My 10-year-old sister loves this series and keeps telling me to read it, so I'm giving it a go! :D I don't tend to read a lot of middle grade books, but it looks really cool and has beautiful illustrations!

Yay! Glad you liked Undivided. It was definitely one of the better series endings out there.

Just fyi the first book has a very contemporary feel to it, the other books in the series are more fantasy based.

Still the series never goes wayy into the fantasy, it never get confusing or too much. Its pretty easy to get.
