I finished my book called Wish by Jake Smith

Finished Restore Me, while some of the things blew my mind, there were parts that were a little meh. Started Defy Me yesterday and I’m almost done with it. There were too many wtf moments that I couldn’t stop reading.

Finished Defy Me yesterday. I have no idea how thisnis going to end, but it’s going to be interesting. Decided to read something else before Imagine Me, so I picked up Serpent & Dove and I’m loving it so far!

I finished my book called Cross Her Heart by Melinda Leigh

I am now on the sixth outlander book. Really loving the series.

Finished Serpent & Dove, which I absolutely loved! Decided to change it up and finish my read of Mistborn #1 before starting to read Bone Crier's War with Owlcrate book club.

I finished my book called The Party by Robyn Harding

I finished my book called You Are Not Alone by Greer Hendricks

Couldn’t finish Mistborn #1. Too slow and I got bored. Started Imagine Me and I’m addicted and can’t stop.

I finally just finished Queen of Shadows yesterday afternoon!!! It was so good! I’m still in love with Rowan!! I’m kind of liking Manon now.

I’m trying to decide if I want to start Aurora Rising next as a short break in this series or jump right into Empire of Storms!

I’m listening to Aurora Burning and it’s AMAZING!!

Finished Imagine Me last night. Ugh it’s bittersweet ending that series. Started Clap When You Land, which I’m enjoying and going to start Bone Crier’s Moon.

I finished the 6th “Outlander” book (A Breath Of Snow And Ashes) and I really enjoyed it, despite it being a lot more slow-paced than the earliest books (with the last couple in the series, it has helped that I am interested in the historical and medical aspects of the story). Now on book 7 (An Echo In The Bone).

Finished Bone Crier's Moon. Started reading The Poet X and finishing my re-read of OOTP.

Reading The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. Really enjoying this one. Who knew? I thought I’d hate Snow.

I just started on Empire of Storms tonight and I’m loving it already!!!! I hope my heart survives this book!!

I’ve also decided to do a re-read of The Hunger Games! I’m going to start that sometime soon! I can’t wait to re-read this series!!!!

Okay, quick change of plans after moving to our new house this weekend I’m putting Empire of Storms on hold! I need some old favorites with all the stress involved in moving! I’m doing a re-read of The Hunger Games series and I’m re-reading the Percy Jackson series for the @percydathon readathon going on, on Instagram for the month of June! I’m so excited! Finished The Poet X and loved it! Elizabeth Acevedo is one of my new favorites and I hope she writes more novels in verse. Finished OOTP and then started The Betrothed. I have to be honest and say that I really had to force myself to get as far as I got in The Betrothed. It was not good. The Selection was way better. Started The Bone Collector, but decided to switch to something else so I am reading Odd One Out by Nic Stone instead, which I am loving.

I finished my book called No Stone Unturned by Andrea Kane

Finished Odd One Out. I wouldn't say it's my favorite by Nic Stone, but I still enjoyed it. Started The Belles, but only on chapter 2 so not sure how I feel about it quite yet. I will say though that the concept is intriguing and I'm curious to see how it plays out.

I Am LOVING it

Finished the seventh "Outlander" book. Enjoyed it, but definitely not my favourite of the series, since it took me a while to care about some of the things we were following in this one. Liked it enough to give it four stars though. Now reading book eight.

Finished The Belles. It was a slow burn, but that ending was crazy. Started The Joy Luck Club, which I am teaching this year with one of my colleagues and will be starting A Song of Wraiths and Ruin, which I am doing as a buddy read.

I finished my book called Mind Games by Nancy Mehl

Started A Song of Wraiths and Ruin and it’s so good! Also reading A Song Below Water, which I’m not really sure about. It seems like it was supposed to be fantasy, but it reads more like a contemporary. I keep waiting for something crazy to happen but nothing ever does. There is something about it though that has me intrigued. Still reading Joy Luck Club as well.

Currently reading:

Poisoned Blade - book 2 in the Court of Fives series. The first book was one I unexpectedly loved, so I'm excited to finish the trilogy. Halfway through this now and enjoying it too.

Hild - historical fiction set in 7th century Britain. Very atmospheric.

Black Leopard, Red Wolf - enthralling fantasy

The Return of the King - reread!

Don Quixote - starting this later this afternoon :) I'm doing a group/buddy read where we read 1 chapter per day until we're finished. Excited!

Recently finished:

Little Fires Everywhere - 4.5 stars, I LOVED this. The Hulu miniseries changed more things than I was expecting, but it was fantastic as well.

Why Are All the Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria?: And Other Conversations About Race - 5 stars, very engaging and thought-provoking.

This week I read three books.  Well, finished one and read two others. Either way, here's what I read during the past week, along with my book reviews.
 
Written in My Own Heart's Blood (Outlander, #8)

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
As much as I'm a fan of the series, I have to admit this one only just managed to scrape the four star rating I'm giving it. I mean, I really enjoyed this book for the most part, but didn't totally love it, and can think of several things I didn't enjoy about it. There were a few places in this book where I felt like the events or details were drawn out a bit more than they needed to be, a couple of times where the scene - while interesting - really didn't do anything to move the plot forward, and a couple of deaths of minor characters I wish hadn't happened. Also - while the ending isn't a cliffhanger, and I did think it was a lovely ending in many ways - I found it frustrating that things were left as they were as regards Roger and Brianna's part of the story. Other than that though, this was a nice addition to the series, and I look forward to the next book.
 
Immortal Born (Argeneau #30)

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This book is an excellent addition to this series; a sweet romance, and an action-packed paranormal tale, with plenty of entertaining scenes. If you enjoy those kinds of things, you should read this book, as well as the previous books in the series. No, it's not essential to have read the others before you read this one, since you won't be lost if you don't know who everyone is. I do suggest you try to though, since there are some things you'll only know about some of the characters if you've read their stories in previous books.
 
The Dancing Bear

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
My actual rating is 3.5 stars, but I rounded up. It would have been a five star read for me, but the ending felt kind of sudden and lacking in emotion. Up until that point I thought it was an excellent and beautiful read, but the ending was a disappointment, which took away a lot of my enjoyment of the rest of the story.

I've been listening to this on audiobook and I'm pretty sure that it's well on the way to becoming a favorite.
