Catherine Bruno | 771 comments Skyhunter ended up being a 2 star read. I just wasn’t invested in the story or characters. I felt like the whole thing fell flat. Started When They Call You a Terrorist and I am loving it! So heartbreaking.

Victoria Zigler (toriz) | 4472 comments I forgot to do my update last week, so here’s what I read over the past two weeks:

Future Earth Chronicles Shorts
by Barbara G. Tarn
My rating: five out of five stars
This is a wonderful collection of short stories, which do an excellent job of illustrating how humans will always find a way, and are a delight to read.

~

Adventure Song (Future Earth Chronicles Book 6)
by Barbara G. Tarn
My rating: five out of five stars
This was an exciting addition to this series, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I just love the characters and worldbuilding of this series, and I’m glad we are getting to explore more of this world.

~

Sun Kissed (Future Earth Chronicles Book 7)
by Barbara G. Tarn
My rating: five out of five stars
Once again this is an excellent addition to the series. It’s fun to read about how different people might have adapted to an apocalypse, and meet all sorts of different types of characters. I really enjoyed the bonus vampires through the centuries story that came at the end of this book too.

~

Asian Ways (Future Earth Chronicles Book 8)
by Barbara G. Tarn
My rating: five out of five stars
I loved exploring so many places with Arjun and company, and liked how this particular story ended a lot, especially the way certain character relationships developed. I've said it before - and likely will again - but this is an excellent addition to the series.

~

Wind Rider (Future Earth Chronicles Book 9)
by Barbara G. Tarn
My rating: five out of five stars
I know I often say how a book is a great addition to its series, but... I was so swept up in this one that I read it in one sitting, and it only occurred to me that I was doing so - and several hours had passed without me noticing - when I got to the end of the book, and was reading the interesting author notes at the end. If that's not the sign of an excellent book that makes a great addition to the series it's a part of, I don't know what is.

~

Melanin Goddess (Future Earth Chronicles Book 10)
by Barbara G. Tarn
My rating: five out of five stars
This was an excellent addition to the series, which I could’ve easily read in one sitting had life and the need to sleep not gotten in the way. I love the way this one ended, and think it was a perfect way to finish out this cycle of the series.

Victoria Zigler (toriz) | 4472 comments This week I read three books, all of which I was given in exchange for reviews.  Well, technically that's not quite accurate, since one of them I was about
a third of the way through before this week started, but still.  Either way, here's what I read, along with my book reviews.

Daughter of Fire (The Daughter of Fire Saga Book 1)
by Stacey Willis
My rating: four out of five stars
This was a gripping read, which fans of fantasy stories that include the Greek Gods will enjoy; a great read for fans of the Percy Jackson books, though
perhaps when they're a little older than the recommended reading age for those, since this one is darker. There were some aspects of the writing style
that make me hesitate to give it the full five stars, but those are minor things that I know are all about my reading preferences, so I would still highly
recommend this book.
*NOTE: I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This fact has in no way influenced either my opinion of the book or the contents
of this review, and all opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

Entrapment (Thor's Dragon Rider, #3)
by Katrina Cope
My rating: five out of five stars
This was an action-packed exciting addition to this series, which I put down with great reluctance when I had to do so in order to do other things - like
sleep, eat, etc. I highly recommend it for fans of fantasy based around Norse mythology.
*NOTE: I was given a free advanced copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review. This fact has had no influence upon either my opinion
of the book or the contents of this review, and all opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

The Dark Prince of Albany (Albany Nightingale Duet #3)
by Rachel M. Raithby
My rating: five out of five stars
This book was an incredibly enjoyable read. I absolutely loved getting to know Grayson better through reading his story. I thought he was a great character
before, but love him even more after reading this book.
*NOTE: I was given a free advanced copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review. This fact has in no way influenced my opinion of the
book or the contents of this review, and any opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

I also just picked up All I Want For Christmas Is You, a Christmas anthology of 6 different romance authors with 6 different stories! I can already tell I’m going to love this one with just the right amount of humor, sexiness, a little angst, raw and relatable feelings, and some feel good Christmas romance!!! A perfect Christmas read!!!! I’m only about 12% into this and loving it already!

message 5228: by Catherine (new)

Catherine Bruno | 771 comments Finished Frontier Follies, which I loved! Also finished The Everlasting Rose, which I liked better than the first book but I got a litte bored at the end. Decided to pick up The Black Kids and the writing is really good. I can’t stop reading it.

Victoria Zigler (toriz) | 4472 comments despite my intensions of a lot of reading time, during the past two weeks I only actually managed to read two books. Never mind. Here's what I read anyhow, along with my book reviews.

A Leaf on the Wind of All Hallows (Outlander, #8.5)
by Diana Gabaldon
My rating: five out of five stars
This was an excellent story, and a fantastic addition to the series. I loved getting to hear what happened to Roger's Father.

~

Immortal Angel (Argeneau #31)
by Lynsay Sands
My rating: five out of five stars
This was another excellent addition to this series. Despite how many books are so far in this series, and the fact there are similarities in where the
plot is ultimately going, the author does an excellent job of keeping things fresh and exciting.
