Oh good! I'm definitely into it, although the first third has dragged a little with too much YA clichés. But I feel it is just beginning to pick up, so hopefully I have the same experience on the last two-thirds :)

The first third was the same for me as well, so I hope you have the same experience :) I did have some issues with it, but I think it was because it was such a "primitive" society. So while I felt like characters were being kind of "stupid" sometimes, after I thought about it a bit, I realized that they really weren't...just very ignorant. The mystery of it all gets really good, and that was the best part for me.

I finished The Rest of Us Just Live Here by Patrick Ness and I ended up really liking it. A solid 4 star read. Not Patrick Ness's best work, but still a good one. I went into it cautiously because I'd heard a lot of mixed reviews. It took about 25% of the way in before I really started to GET it. Its half satire, and a very hilarious one, and half a coming of age contemporary. He spends a lot of time making fun of paranormal cliched YA, and the other part of it creating some really interesting characters dealing with some complex stuff. I really like the main characters in this. The plot and story that was going on around the characters was LOL funny! Anyways, I'm really glad I gave this a try!

I made it to 40% and then another of my library books came in so I had to switch over to that one LOL. But I was definitely enjoying The Forgetting and it was hard to pull away from it. For me it's more the dialogue between her and her sure-to-be love interest. It's stock-standard YA I-don't-like-you-but-I'm-going-to-end-up-with-you stuff. That's my only real gripe.

Finished The Earth Dwellers (The Dwellers #4; Country Saga #4 ) by David Estes on audio. I don't know how many times I had to wipe tears off my cheeks. *shakes fist at Estes* But such a beautiful ending to the Dwellers and Country Sagas!!

Starting a PIFM book on audio NOS4A2 by Joe Hill and also started an eARC of Waking Gods (Themis Files, #2) by Sylvain Neuvel .

Ms. Just One More Book (Kris Miller) (msjustonemorebook) | 37 comments I'm halfway through Crossing in Time (Between Two Evils, #1) by D.L. Orton Crossing in Time. If you like dystopians and time travel, this is a really good one. Reminds me of 'The Time Traveler's Wife', but better. Generally I don't care for a romance heavy book (which I didn't realize this was about 40% romance), but it's really well written.

Also, if anyone is a big Sci-fi fan, I recently read Plane Walker (The Manus Dei Trilogy Book 1) by C.P. Dunphey Plane Walker. That book blew me away!

Jenny, I have stopped The Forgetting at around 45%. I am struggling with it right now, and everything else I read is keeping my attention. I haven't officially DNF'd it yet, so maybe I will attempt to get back into it. For now, however, I'm reading Front Lines (Soldier Girl, #1) by Michael Grant which I LOVE so far. Ohmygosh, I finally finished A Torch Against the Night (An Ember in the Ashes, #2) by Sabaa Tahir . What a heartbreaking dark book. More like Tabir ripped my heart out and stomped on it and then set it on fire. I hope the next 2 books bring a bit of light to this series!

Donna (BookDragonGirl) (bookdragongirl) Maybe I'll wait for the third book and then reread the first, read the second, and then the third? I'm not liking the things I've been hearing about this one.

I watched an interview and she talked about how she purposely kept pulling the rug out from under her readers. At the time, I was thinking, naaahhh, we can take anything. She did!!

It was certainly action packed and well written!

I'm listening to the audio of NOS4A2 by Joe Hill and it's ok so far. I just ordered the print copy from Book Outlet. I think I may need to switch back and forth. It's hard for me to hear Kate Mulgrew (Starship Captain Janeway) as narrator saying the F bomb. Not that she doesn't in Orange is the New Black... But at least she has a Russian accent on OITNB so I don't see or hear Captain Janeway! Lol! ;)
