Book arrived today, hooray :)
That reminded me of a question I wanted to post above but forgot (of course), are there some of you whose parents or grandparents emigrated from somewhere else, like Eilis did, to US or some other country? Have they, your parents or grandparents or their grand-grandparents, shared with some tales of their first experiences in the new country? Were those tales sweet or bitter, or both?
I had a great-aunt who settled in Canada, but still remained in touch with my aunt. Unfortunately their descendants didn't continue the correspondence, and I don't think they ever came to visit what was once their mother's home country.

For those who haven't seen the movie, take a glimpse of the trailer on our main page, but do not watch it the whole, you'll spoil the seeing of the movie itself if you decide to watch it afterwards! I thoroughly enjoyed the movie - the romance and the story overall was so refreshingly endearing and characters easy to empathize with.
I am still waiting for my copy of the book to arrive. Has anybody read the book and/or seen the movie? Please share your thoughts with us!
