Nik Krasno | 19852 comments There are fellow authors that avail their sites and platforms to other authors in the form of interviews, guest posts, etc.
They too deserve a little exposure. The least I can do is to provide some cyber space here, if anyone would want to share an interview, blog post or whatever hosted by blogger, fellow author or a major TV channel.
It's a bit immodest to start with my own stuff, by I don't have anyone else's, so here's an interview hosted by Troy Jackson:

Thank you, Troy!

Nik Krasno | 19852 comments Forget those dull and boring billionaires that you already know. The rise of the eastern nouveau riches can sometimes be a little sexier. Thanks to Heidi Angell for the opportunity to share some insight. Books & movies, what can be better?

Nik Krasno | 19852 comments An author always worries, when releasing a book, how the readers will accept it. So far inspriring...

Nik Krasno | 19852 comments Although Vicky always has some critique for me, which I admit is deserved, I nonetheless really enjoy her reviews and treasure her evaluation. True, it can hardly be called a feminist literature, but it's not me, it's the oligarchs, and I, on my part, try to mitigate their grave behavior -:)

Nik Krasno | 19852 comments What can be a greater pleasure for an author than to see his messages, carefully wrapped up in the book, coming through?

Nik Krasno | 19852 comments Many thanks and best of luck to a fellow author - Lindsay Marie Miller for my first summer interview. Da, it's not Tarantino, it's just me, but maybe someone would want to have a look? Besides, I promised Lindsay to share it with my network -:)

Maybe it's just me, but to complain about the lack of a strong female character is to miss the entire point. I'm only a little past the halfway point of the first book, but Misha is a character surrounding himself with what he wants. His growing wealth has allowed him to insulate himself from some of those individuals who would try to compete with him. Even the men in his life, while totally capable, are identified as people he considers "safe."

As far as the women, it's really no surprise he surrounds himself with what the reviewer might consider weak women, when he is someone who hires prostitutes to entertain his party guests, and he takes advantages of those women who gravitate toward the money.

Never mind that you're describing a country with such poverty that women have to choose partners based on their ability to support them and not based on love, but you're presenting us a character who is somewhat reprehensible in how he rises to power, and unfortunately a strong female sidekick only weakens the character you're presenting to us.

I think you sum the whole issue up when Misha brings the American banker into his organization. Misha throws all these wild parties with drugs and women, and the American is uncomfortable with it all. That segment of the book, for me is an acknowledgement that you're presenting a situation that is culturally different from what many of us are accustom to.

I'll admit his lifestyle does not appeal to me - I'm off the mindset of the American banker. However, it is sort of like a train wreck. Misha is morally reprehensible, but you just can't look away.

Nik Krasno | 19852 comments You got it right, J.J., but I can understand women that don't like reading about Misha's attitude towards girls. Legit opinion. Misha can be called a chauvinist, a reprehensible dude and an anti-hero really. But these are instrumental characteristics to feature the behavior of many super rich then and there. What can I do if women were particularly fond of black BMWs in early-middle nineties and the owners of such cars needed to fight hard not to turn Casanovas?-:). Here is what used to be a megahit in Russia maybe 15 years ago. Desribes this very point in a form of a videoclip:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYfKi...
Just wanted to be realistic.
Rumors aside, don't know much about Putin's divorce background, but media covered Abramovich's example of replacing wives is not such a rare instance.
Admitedly, there are real strong female characters that treat men like Misha does women.... The story is not about them though.

P.S. - I'll be on Miss Lindsay's soon too! Once I get around to answering the questions I promised her... *sigh*

In a sense, it's like a corruption textbook -:)
My only hope is that the readers will come out understanding and despising it more rather than see it as a shortcut to significant gains
